I had a 91 AT Nissan Sentra about 8 years ago. It was 2 door and red. It can beat an RX8 because one time I was at a downhill stop light on a cold day and when it turned green I floored it. I went from 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.....in first gear....shooting flames outa the pipes.....doing a wheely......on the front two wheels

 

I hear Crossfires can do that in reverse

What's crazy is seeing a 16 year old kid on a tricycle going from 0-60 in 2.3 seconds.

 

I had to put up with all that when I got my 8. Just smile and don't say a word, maybe give them a thumbs up and say, yupp, your right!. Silence is the best medicine.

Then when they try and race you outa school let them take off and get in trouble with the school administrator and possibly the police. That exact thing happened to me and I just laughed and drove on by like everyone else.

 

the OP, where ever he is now seems like he has his own insecurities with his confidence level and car, another thing that i infered was that he probably doesnt know to much about cars. anyone with common knowledge about cars could hold up an easy arguement on why an rx8 is better than those junks. stupidity is this kids problem, read up. ohh and your "friends" probably know just as much as you.

One of my friends is friends with this other guy who drives an svt focus hatchback, its a pos, but he always tells me how my car sucks and he can beat me around a track and in a drag race, he also insists his car is AWD even though it's FWD. So i just say fine let's race and he always insists it's a waste of time for him to race me because he'd win so bad. he raced this other's guys automatic ford SHO and lost because it takes him about a second and a half to shift gears. He also says he's way better at shifting than me because he learned to drive a manual about 4 months before I did, even though i have far more experience driving stick.

 

That seems to be a trend among young Focus owners.

 

Scuse me for shitting in his chili, but he's got less power than a Miata under the hood and the wrong-wheel-drive launch handicap. He's full of it and he knows it. The "waste of time" excuse is used by douchebags who talk more than they drive.

 

I just had an idea this morning. offer the them a ride in your car. Show them how much fun the car is and how cool the interior is. They'll turn from your adversaries to your desciples!
