One of the many great things about this site is the amount of info that is available outside of the dealership network. I have "trained" my service writer that if I come in with a problem I usually have a real gripe. I am not trying to get something for free or waste their time with a made up problem. A copy of the applicable TSB and/or exact parameters that they can see on a test ride with me often convinces them that I am right and smart enough to come in prepared. I had to take one trip to the dealership manager while my 8 sat on the garage drive to ask him to witness the stupidity of his tech writer when he tried to give me the run around. Since that incident the tech writer has not given me any grief. I also make it a point to inspect the car carefully when I pick it up after service so they know I am aware of any poor workmanship on their part. Hey it is a $27,000 car and I am not going to let any moron take 27k out of my pocket.
