can you afford more performance parts? parts for the rx8 are mighty expensive! by the way I'm 17 also and just giving you some advice... dont be dumb and immature and race on the streets! Go autocross or experiment in an open lot or something dude. It's not cool to endanger other peoples lives. But newayz yah! parts are freaken expensive i've already wasted over a grand on parts while i couldve thrown all that money away at my girlfriend or dvds... At least i spent it on something productive :D

i love this

firstly to spend £14k (working on masdaUSA site quoting $25180 and $-£ of 1.799) on your 17 yo son is nothing odd, plus the way THERS IS A TURBO...check out the Oz web site

£14k for a RX8 is a absolute bargin for a brilliant car so congrats! Just be carful i street race for fun and have done for a few years so far i have destryed 3 cars and spent well over $30k fixing others

why get soooooo jealous of a kid with a nice car?

Abbid, *ding* made a very valid point there. Sometimes I forget how young Polak is... Hmm... Perhaps it's because he pays for his car, and doesn't brag about.. "Hey look at me, I'm young, got the car for free, now I want to spend more of my parent's money, tell me how so I can race down the street and showoff."

Sausage71, Reality is in the next year or so, the odds are you will get a traffic ticket. The odds are even better that you WILL get into a car accident before you turn 21. Both of these may happen if you continue "racing" at your age due to lack of driving experience.

read the previous post, i dont street race, i go to a track it says it earlier in the forum and secondly i pay for my car not my parents, i will have been driving 3 years in a month and i only have one ticket and thats for running a stop sign on a dead end road while i was going to a fire call, if i get a ticket my insurance will go up and ill have to pay it but i find that unlikely since i do follow all traffic laws. Finaly i did not post this thread in order to brag i posted it to ask for some advice on visual/mechanical upgrades and to express my gratitude for having such a nice car if it was taken as bragging im sorry but i did not intend it that way.

um, you do know that there are other 16/17 y/o's on here that got this car and pay for it themselves right? and you do realize that you look like a total dusche bag and nobody really cares what you have to say at this point because you've already done an amazing job making youself look like a total tool. How about you go off back to high school where all of your friends who dont have one of these think your cool....

Can't we all just get along? He aplogized and some people took it the wrong way. The best advice we could give this young lad is browse through the forum, use the search tool, drive responsibly and use a condom.. because for 17 year olds this car will get you some action.

I have my doubts he pays for the car on his own. My 17 year old cousin got a car and said he paid for it himself too... and it was used and much cheaper. Unless these 17 year olds have full time jobs and make a damn good living.. I don't see how they can afford an 30k car. I call BS on almost all of them, and while there are some exceptions, most of them are flat liars and mommy and daddy bought them a car without thinking what they are actually doing -- giving the keys of a sports car to a kid that barely knows how to drive.

If he was not bragging then why does he point out he is a 17 yr old and the luckiest? If he wanted to know where to find the HP goodies then that's all he needed to say. I would say this individual is very interesting to have an RX and works three jobs. Is he out of HS yet? If not then its interesting he can hold three jobs and maintain school work and good grades to pass too. I think we have given this thread enough traffic . To find stuff to make the RX faster somewhat then all that is needed is to use the "search" button and he should get some ideas and tips on what is needed to move these great cars faster. Still at 17 he is among the elite kids in the US to own a car like this and that's quite an accomplishment but the way it reads it certainly does appear to be bragging. Enough said.

Christ. Even Morgan.

There's a lot of people here that might want to think about switching to Sanka. He's an excited kid. He's welling up with gratitude for the opportunities provided by his parents. It's nice to see a few kids that have a parent/child relationship where they don't end up painting their nails black and posting "poor me" threads all day. If you see an happy kid like that, and you're falling all over yourself to rain on his parade, you really need to take a look at what might be making you behave like that.

If you wanted to be a snob, you shouldn't have bought a $26,000 car.

Lighten the **** up, people.

IM not stereotyping about kids with wrecked expensive cars, its the stats that talk.

also, its not the type of attitude we like to see, when someone is saying 'im 17 with an rx8' theres only one thing their doing, bragging. you dont see polak making threads about how old he is, we dont flame him now do we?
Well said, well said.

Ooh ooh...I do. I've read like 3 threads in the past 10 min. and every single one of them had "Ellar, The Forum Popo" on the case.

Funny chit. :p

sorry--but my first post on here wasn't about me being a lucky 17 y/o...i dont even think half the people knew i was only 17 until i was asked or something. To me it's not really a big deal...if he wants to brag about only being 17 and having this car...fine.

and what the hell does painting your nails black have anything to do with this...i have a great relationship w/my mom and i still paint my nails black for occasions like halloween and such... :p But his relationship w/his parents really shouldn't matter if he is paying for the car...now should it?

and none of us are "snobs." we just dont always agree and like to voice our opinons. :D

1) You did brag.. read your words again.
2) Why express gratitude if you bought the car yourself? Do you thank yourself everytime you buy the car yourself?
3) Amazing you have great credit to buy the car without your parent's help, and using the money you've earned in the last 3 years since 14 years old to pay the initial down payment on the car.
4) 17 years old... driving 3 years in a month,.... 14 year old driver, amazing again.
