I'm confused?!?!?!?!

Okay, I'm confused whatsa the difference between the rx-8 and the Mazdaspeed and how come the Mazdaspeed has a higher hp. Also do they look the same, and which comes out first? And how much later does the one after it come out? I would appreciate all the help i can get on this one cause i definetly want the faster car the better car and the best deal.
Thanks!

MazdaSpeed is the aftermarket performance car, it will probably cost a bit more, and always is faster than the regular version

I don't expect to see that till at least 2005, but I can't wait that long. 250 horses is fine for now, it'll move just fine. When my lease is up, I'll get a MazdaSpeed version.

In my opinon paying the 5000 more for the mazdaspeed version isn't worth it because u can do a hell of alot more moding it by urself using 5000 dolars, T4 turbo would cost that much for example.

For people like me though, who will continually lease for the rest of their lives, it's a sound investment

I get tired of having a car for 3 years and I always long for something new... My Millenia is a nice car but it's not what I want any more, and thus I am getting the RX-8 next. But the RX-8 will then be followed by who knows what.. maybe an RX-7... maybe an M3... who knows

There is more to a car than just that turbo. If it is anything like the Mazdaspeed6 or Mazdaspeed Protege, they will tweak the motor for big gains, but also mess with aerodynamics, suspension (big time here), styling, wheels, exhaust, etc. Many people say the Mazdaspeed Protege isn't enough for the extra $4000 MSRP over a ES Protege, but I'd like to see you put everything they put on the MS Protege for $4000, and THEN make it work as magically as Mazda has been able to make it. When you are one of the best handling cars available at ANY price, that type of thing is going to be difficult to do yourself even with $20,000.

Yes, the Mazdaspeed will look like the RX-8....for the most part. They will likely do things with aerodynamics, such as a small, subtle spoiler, perhaps a small airdam, different wheels/tires, maybe a different front grille.

You know BMW M and Mercedes AMG cars right? For instance the M Roadster looks very similar to the Z3's on which it is based, but there are subtle differences between them. That is what Mazdaspeeds will be.

Comepare the Protege, and Mazda6 to the Mazdaspeed Protege and the Mazdaspeed6 (still concept in this photo, but you get the idea).

Protege: http://www.mazdausa.com/images/prote..._gal_pop01.jpg

Mazdaspeed Protege:

Mazda6:

Mazdaspeed6 (Mazda6 MPS concept):

Hopefully that helps. Man, I LOVE that new 6. If that is the future of Mazda, I think it will be the brightest time for Mazda in its history. Mazda will soon be riding VERY high.

Glad to see the enthusiasm! I think all of us here love to talk about cars, so keep the questions coming.

I'm very impressed by Mazda's recent efforts... The Mazdaspeed cars look like they're going to be awesome.

I really wouldn't expect to see the Mazdaspeed 6 and Mazdaspeed RX-8 until a couple of years after the normal versions of the cars start being offered though. It just doesn't make sense from a marketing or production standpoint to do anything else.

Can't wait to see what the Mazdaspeed RX-8 turns out like... But for now I'm more concerned with what the normal car turns out like!
