Stalled my car some days ago in about 30 F. Had been running for less than 1 minute. Started without any problems.

There have been numerous accounts of people stalling RX-8's and then starting them right back up again.

Anyway, why is your RX-8 cursed??

It's possible to flood if it happens right after starting the engine, but I don't think it's very likely. Happened to me just after I got my 8, but it started back up fine.

2004 have the most chance of issue, 2005 a little less, 2006+ have closer to zero chance due to changes from mazda.

it could, but I've been fortunate for the couple of times that I've done it. I was too tired to remember to take it out of gear before letting off the clutch

i stalled my car today when the coolant temp was 29f and the outside temp was 25f.

started right back up with 1 crank.

flooding IS NOT AN ISSUE.

Well, if u search, this Q has been addressed many times on this forum. You won't flood the engine if you re-start the car right away. If you wait a few mins, you might flood. If u search, you'll find out why.

I Agree, mine never stalls and I dont really treat it any different than any other car in that sense. I did at first untill I forgot to let it warm up a few times and it never flooded on me. Im thinking that mazda pretty much has the flooding issue fixed, or very close to it

I think the longer you let it sit after a short move the more likely it is to flood. Something about gasoline eating away the oil film on the rotors leading to a loss of compression, I don't really remember the thread exactly so i could be wrong, but there is at least one thread were some people like Rotarygod get into what exactly happens when you flood the engine. Go find it.

I've yet to shut the car off really cold, but I've pulled just around the corner a few times and filled up on gas with no problems. Temp needle hadn't started to move yet.

I think its much less of an issue on later models.
