the difference being the extra oil injector? well, that wouldnt make sense because all you get when you get a new engine is the shortblock. just the bare engine itself, so if they gave you the engine for an 09 that had the extra injector, you wouldnt have any of the plumbing needed for that injector, and the metering would be off because your setup is only made for 2 injectors. they put in a remaned MSP renesis that would be identical to what came from your car (IE, 6 port, 4 port).

yah, you get a reman from the factory here in the states. The remans they're making now seem to be doing REALLY well.

What if your engine is out of warranty and you have to get it replaced? Is it possible to get one of those official Mazda remans? Or is Mazmart's rebuilds still the preferred?

Search for sleepy-z's threads. He works at the Reman plant. I got a brand new engine recently, not a reman. I guess the first 100 or so from the new plant are brand new.

Another question...
I got a reman back at about 55,000 miles and am now at 73,000. What all gets done when they replace your engine?? I also got a new clutch at that time. I was planning on going to go get my rear diff. & tranny fluid replaced, but would the tranny fluid be replaced when they replaced both engine & clutch??
For future reference, what all do they replace, flush, etc. when they replace an engine?

Question: when you get a remanengine from the dealer/mazda does the new motor get another 100k miles? or is it as many as you can go thru before the odo says 100k?

Reman engines have the following, currently...
New rotors/components on the rotor(this may change to used rotors but not yet)
Housings are used unless they fail inspections(measured), right now I would say they are replaced 50% of the time for the front/rear and rotor housings.
Front cover is used.
All rubber gaskets are new.
oil pan is new.
oil pressure regulator is used unless it fails when the engine is ran.
oil pump is used.
water pump and gasket are new.
Eccentric shaft is used unless it fails inspections.
Flywheels are used and resurfaced unless they are rusted or scratched too deep.
pulley is used unless bent(usually bent on delivery since dealers dont bother tieing the cores down sometimes.
Any more ?'s I will try to answer.
BTW you cant use a 09 engine, different wiring and everything. Previous years are the same.
We have recieved 2 of our units back, one had metal shavings found in them and the other failed compression...supposedly, under investigation now. We have shipped about 300 I believe total from here, I forget maybe more maybe less.

i asked the dealership and they said you get as many engines up until the odometer reads 100k or the 8 years is up. So if you get the engine replaced at 90k miles you do NOT get another 100k miles of warranty on the engine.

thats a little scary i mean its free and all but when you get like a jasper engine they give you a 3 year 36k warranty.

Oh yeah forgot to answer the warranty thing, from what I was told the reman engines are 2 or 3 years(forgot) or 36k mile warranties. sorta the standard warranty for reman engine/transmissions. Dealerships never know most the time, in fact I have seen several engines come in past the warranty, I let the bosses sort those issues out its not my job.

Yeah if you have any mods on the block ie water pump get it off and have the dealer swap it before they ship the core. They get the rebuilt engine first then ship the core back so if you got it in good with them have them swap over your mods. I havent seen any different style w/pumps honestly. I have seen someone drill holes into the bottom of the rotor housings probably for oil coolers or something and I have seen aftermarket aluminum flywheels make it here. Just make sure they ship back whatever they take off the bad motor, we charge them for things like missing flywheels and so on and they probably would put the blame on you, I dunno though.
