If the our beloved RX-8's didnt exist...

Probably one of the new V-8 Mustang GT's. I just love gutsy American V-8's, but have never owned one. Nimbleness has always won out when I'm looking for a sporty car, but maybe I'll give a muscle car a try someday.

I was looking at RSX's, then I saw how **** the interior was and the girly look that it has, and that it costed atleast 2 grand more than most of the rx-8's. So I would've been riding those.

I have no idea... Would have probably sold out and bought a modded A4 quattro.. Slow and understeering, but just about the only other thing somewhat decent for around $10k - coulda found a Z, but needed back seats. RSX would have been ok, but I don't like hatchbacks or front wheel drive.
If I were gonna try to flip my car and buy something for around $17k, I'd maybe get an Evo, WRX, or MS6..

I don't know what I'd get. Three years ago I was car shopping, with a primary consideration being second childhood. Nothing appealed to me. S2000 was too much money for what it was. Something did not feel right about the 350Z. Too tall to fit in a Miata. Z4 seemed like a prospect, but it handled like mush. Mustang...well, I'm too old to grow a mullet.
Discovering the 8 saved my second childhood.
