Idling Problem Help guys.

OK today after 9 days of storing my rx8 i turned it on fired right up but i let it idle for like 3 minutes and than took it for a 100m drive i put it in neutral and let it idil while i sprayed water on i heard the engine revving up and down i looked inside the rpm was going to about 1k and than droping to 800rpm and after a while it stoped doing it

any one else notice this? is it normal?

Idling between 800 and 1k seems normal to me. I know I've seen mine do that.

That is normal. Also the stock tach is off by about 100rpm. Normal rotary, it took me a long time to get used to this.

Mine only does that on warmup. Otherwise it never hits 1k rpm's on full idle.

yeah on warm up is fine when it's warm should sit anywhere between 800 to 1000 rpm

Shouldn't drop below 750 though. If so you may have a problem.
