I saw Titanium Gray today

I was at my dealer ordering my Rotary Accent Package when i saw a beautiful Miata outside, a beautiful gray color with a blue top. The gray looked almost like a gunmetal color, seemed to have a teeny tinge of blue in it. I asked my salesman about it and he said, "That's your color!" I went and looked at the window sticker which said something like "Shinsen Edition" (don't remember the exact Japanese word) and the color was given as Titanium Gray.

I'm psyched! I had thought about waiting for a silver one but now that I have seen Titanium Gray in natural light with my own eyes, NO WAY. Those of you who have ordered the color, I really doubt you will be disappointed with your choice. It's gorgeous and looks like a million bucks. Pics don't do it justice.

The blue seats and top of the Miata looked really fab with the gray car. Wish they made blue available inside the RX-8 somehow.

If any of you have seen Porsche's Seal Gray, it is very similar- but I thought the Mazda shade was even nicer. What's funny is now that I have made that comparison, I realize the SG was my color of choice for the Boxster, too...

Man your lucky. I have seen the red paint, but not the Grey. The red had like gold flakes in the paint. You said the grey has blue flakes????.

No blue flakes- no flakes at all. It's more of a color tone issue, like it is a cooler tone of gray while being very deep and rich at the same time. It's kind of hard to describe- imagine between a gunmetal blue and a cold gray, almost a deep, liquid look to it- that is the bet I can do.

BTW Based on the way the color appears to me, I'm glad I did not get the red leather with it. The blue interior of the Shinsen matches the blue tone of the gray well- I almost feel the red leather would clash.

YMMV: Different people perceive colors differently... it is a genetic thing. Not to mention tastes. What would be REALLY hot is blue inserts, or even the gray cloth inserts we apparently will not be getting as depicted thus far...

I get a little careful about trusting the judgement of car colors based on the opinion of someone who uses the word "fab" in their description. Not doubting, just careful.

hehehehehe:D

You have "retro" in your name but don't like the word fab? That's kind of off... I guess my using it is a result of coming off of my 13 hours of watching old British Gerry Anderson shows from the 1970s...

DonG35Miata, it wouldn't be 'fab' then, it would be 'F.A.B.' Nerdilly yours: Lensman
