I made my 8 beep tonite...

I made my 8 beep tonite for the first time while revving to 8500 rpms. I noticed that she ran rough around 7500 rpms or so. Anyone else notice some slight shuddering around this range?

shouldn't run rough...but there is a change in mechanics at 7500 RPMS I'd explain but I'm going to bed...maybe in the morning I'll finish though

I dutifully kept my 8 under 4k RPM (with occasional short bursts to 5k) for the first 1000 miles. After that, I started venturing into the higher RPM's. I, too, noticed a rough spot and/or slight hesitation as the RPM's passed through about 7500. I can't explain why, but the good news is that the problem went away on its own. Perhaps it is because I now use the engine throughout its entire RPM range instead of babying it like I did during the breakin period.

I was out joy riding today and made the 8 beep in 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears in a row and all three times I noticed a "change" around 7500 rpms. The car didn't fight, but it didn't sound smooth. She dutifully beeped at me though three times in a row. I think I got to over 80 mph in 4th (don't remember if it was start or end of 4th) and up to 123 mph on the highway. It was awesome.

nice, 80mph sounds about right....considering I like to downshift from 6 to 3rd at 60 and I rocket my way from there. It is very awesome
