I love the snow!
I spent last weekend in the Cleveland area, and for those of you who hadn't heard, the Midwest got a LOT of snow (granted, not as much as parts of New England!). Cleveland also has a habit of not plowing its streets. HOWEVER, I still managed to drive around 100 miles on Saturday without getting stuck once. Absolutely beautiful...I will be bragging about that for ages. (However, I did accidentally get towed on Friday night...not cool. I think they were jealous.)
If you're interested, I do have snow tires on my car. They're 17" Yokohama tires on Enkei rims. So far they've been well worth the money!

Up here in snow country (New England) my 8 has been doing great despite Mother Nature dealing us her worst. Got the winter floormats inside and Pirelli Sottozeros on 17" wheels. Have not had a problem. All the complaints about traction are clearly from the stock summer tires which have no place in the North in the winter months. No snow traction at all and they even have poor dry traction since the tire compounds are too hard for the temperature. Got snows on all our cars (Porsche 911, Volvo V70, RX8) and my wife and I do not think twice about venturing out. Change in late November, change back in April.....

I'm having a great time with my RX-8 in the snow, this past weekend we had a snow storm and I chose the RX-8 over our SUV to go to a party and it was great. I'm running Toyo Garritt HT's which have been incredible.

Mentalhealth is overrated
Yes the car is good in the snow....I use the DSC when I am in traffice, but once I'm on the side roads with some room...off goes the DSC and I practice my drifting technique.....loads of fun.
