I think he should consult a lawyer, then follow the lawyer's advice.
After he's been to court and the thing is settled, I'd enjoy hearing the whole tale, including the outcome. Maybe he could title the follow-up "If I did it."

GET A LAWYER and fight the hell out of it. If anything you will be able to get 50% of those tickets reduced or kicked out since most them relate to each other your attorney could fight for you on the side of double jeopardy clause.

lawyer. that is one pissed off coppa, and the judge will look at the ticket and know you must have done something pretty stupid to get that many fines tacked on. "the mercy of the court" all depends on the judge and his/her mood the day you go to court.
cases w/representation usually get heard first - when the judge has not heard enough BS yet to be irritated w/the defendants. plus, the lawyer will know (rather than assuming) which offenses are crap & which are serious - and, more importantly - which can be argued down +/- thrown out.

i agree, there's more to this story than what was said in the original post.
1. how fast were you going?
2. were you weaving in and out of lanes as you were excessively speeding and for how long did you do this?
3. how long did it take you to pull over after the cop flashed his lights?
4. why did you cry? a cop that sees you crying will automatically assume you're guilty of something.
please continue on with your story with full details so we can all 'estimate' how much trouble you're in.

Cops don't usually throw the book at you unless you really hacked them off. Speeding is routine, so that wasn't it. Turn signals and following to closely? Please. I'm thinking there must be more to the idea of reckless driving and failure to yeild. Hard to miss the blue lights and siren on a straight flat road. I24 and SR840 are the only places you'll meet a the THP around M'boro.
So you bought a video game and... What happened?

The lack of explanation leads me to believe you did something colossally stupid. Like speeding and weaving in and out of traffic – which would get you nearly all of the listed infractions. You should get a lawyer immediately if you fancy the thought of driving again anytime soon. Or having insurance through a company that isn’t going to cost you a small fortune every 6 months.
I have zero sympathy for the colossally stupid.
