I just drove a 2006 $24k RX-8 why would you pay $32k for nearly the same car. This $24k wasn't the GT it was a base line with Options. It had every option except leather seats and it did have a spoiler and performed just as spunky as the GT is not more so.

I ask is leather seats worth $8k? I think not.

Now obviously there are some performance options that are not visiable I did not turn on the stero, sells person turned it on, I turned it off. When I test drive I want to hear the car not Black Crow.

If I bought I'd go Base line cloth seat and 6 spd manual dressed out like this car.

Are there many cloth seat spoiler dressed 8s?

hmm........mind is a touring pkg 8 so it has cloth seats.....

with a spoiler . Anyways the leather is nice but necessary. I do wish tho, they made power seats a seperate option, would be nice to have. Added bonus.

I do not know about you, But I paid 27k out the door for my 07GT with all the bellss and whistles. Except the Nav system. So my question is why would you pay 24k for a car that does not have Traction controle, leather, and no sun roof. Also the car will be almost two years old. Also you did not state howmany miles are on that 06.

Bad_Bob, you've got a killer deal! So, subtracting sales tax and fees from $27k, you paid around $24k for a new 07GT? Can you tell me the dealer name?

People were getting $10k off MSRP on fully loaded GT models last year. Welcome to the wonderful world of supply and/or demand.

was that the cash price?
And the 06 could still be new (we all know how fast the 8's are selling)

Well, Yes it was a cash price sorta, I had my own financing. So I walked in with a check when the deal was in stone.

That's pretty much what I paid for my RX-8 (sport package) last year. $27 out the door for a new GT is a total steal.

I paid a bit over 23 for my new 06 GT with appearance pkg, leather seats, etc
only thing it didnt have was nav, and I really didn't want it.

Mazda finance was giving 3k to use them, + 1k for dealer incentives. Then I just wore the dealer down while my son played in the bounce house for a few hours

You drove a year old car that is already depreciating, some of us wanted a new car with everything we wanted at the outset. Go with what you want and can afford.

Get the the mazda rubber floor mats. They are nice and do a good job of holding in dirt. I'd also invest in the seat covers.

Look make an offer that seems really silly to you. For instance that car for 24K offer them 18K out the door. You never know. They might just take it. Mazda does not move these cars. Also they are on the end of month. So you never know. That’s how I got my deal... As you can tell I have no issue with insulting stealerships. So give it a try. Best of luck and I hope you get the 8 you want for the price you want to pay.

Amen brother.

You can do better though. You can probably find a 2006 GT for ~$24.

wellll... i think i got the deal of all deals with my car...

bought it 6 months ago.. it was a used 04 with only 6,000 miles on it.. for 21k ! it has a spoiler, basic interior, no sunroof, but had navigation in it somehow. seemed like it was a custom order back in the day or something and the guy never drove it.

Just a sidenote, I dont know about anyone else, but my leather is TERRIBLE!!! I bought my car with 20,219 miles on it and the leather was aleady showing wear. Now with 48K miles, its really showing wear. They also scratch really easy. Ive actualy been looking for some new racing seats. But back to the point, Id stick with cloth, I wish my RX8 was cloth instead of leather. It looks nice but begins to look ugly fast. Stick with cloth.

my leather seats look about the same now (43k miles) as they did when the car was nearly new... a little wear, but overall it's okay. The only thing I do special is not wear stuff that can press into the seat. Cell phones on the belt, big wallet in the rear pocket, etc.

It also matters how you get in and out of the chair. If you slide around, twist, etc. you will prematurely wear it.

Yea I wanted cloth but I wanted the moonroof more and that didn't come with cloth. I had to upgrade to the GT package to get the moonroof. I wanted seats like the Shinka but I didn't like the paint colour.

It also helps if you drive around completely naked.

You have two choices:

1. Get black leather
2. Eat with your butt and crap with your mouth.

Here's something I never understood. Maybe it's because I'm the only person that drives my car, but what is the purpose of power seats? I can move my seat very quickly to the right postion and leave it there pretty much forever unless someone else is driving it (maybe for service work). Either way I guess I don't get why you would want power seats. They're expensive, more moving parts to break, and slower than doing it by youself.
