I just bought an RX-8!!!

Hey guys,

I just got my 8 last night and it drives like a dream. I love it. I love this site too. I'm learning a lot about the car from other people's experiences. O well, just thought I'd say hi to everyone.

LOL! Since when does the number of posts having anything to do with being a noob?!

(And I'm not saying YOU are a noob.)

I'm a noob! Well, as of a couple of weeks ago, that is. Promise not to make fun of me

Dave, my RX-8 is less than two weeks old. I'm still like a kid at Christmas whenever I get ready to drive it. I finally put some miles on it this past weekend, and it really feels like MY car now.

Hey guys, thanks for the warm welcome. Well...being a recent college grad and all, I had to limit myself to a basic RX-8. No options at all. The car is black. It is so much fun to drive. Hehe, I think my dad has put more miles on it than I have. The only thing I'm worried about is the gas mileage. I took it out for a nice 40 mile drive and I'm down 1/4 tank already. Jeez. It's worth it though, even if it's premium gas only =)

That can't be right... Members of a cult never seem to recognize they are in a cult.

That said, I probably *sound* like a cult member when I talk about how much fun this thing is to drive!

Don't worry about the gas mileage. Just have fun. Enjoy the rotary. My wife's Tribute gets 15 mpg and is nowhere near as fun.

Welcome to the cult.
You'll understand after you spend too much time on this site and find numerous excuses to put miles on your 8.

Enjoy the ride!!

Just have fun. Picked mine up today myself after months of research and waiting for my down payment, and the fun factor of driving the thing, the practicality of having two usable back seats and a functional trunk, and just the LOOKS is enough. Hey, could turn out to be a Lemon Law candidate, but I ain't complaining yet.

Almost hit 600 miles, can't wait til break-in is over so I can open it up a bit more. I'm gonna take suggestions from the Tech forum and swap out my tranny and diff fluid when it hits 3k miles with either Royal Purple or Redline, whichever is available or cheaper =)

I'm getting about 16.5 MPG from my last two fillups (includes city and highway driving), which is pretty decent. This car is so much fun to drive and handles like a champ. Thanks to everyone for all the info and help.
