I hit road debris, and it tore the screws or clips out of...

...whatever you call the black plastic shield under the front bumper.

Sorry I am not technically versed.

I hit a giant piece of an old, blown out tire on the highway at about 75 mph, and that plastic piece is just drooping now, and I'm worried it's going to just fall off.

The weird thing is, there no screws in or anchors in any of the holes near the front lip.

Has anyone had this problem, and what's the best way to re-secure it?

Thanks.

Hurry on down to the auto store and buy some inserts.

Otherwise if you drag it you have to replace it.

It will catch more and more air and break. See MM fix it thread for the undercarriage.
you don't want to go that route. Just get the plus. NOw

Or you can screw it down with normal screws, like I did. That works too.

Thanks guys.

Thanks Razz for mention of that thread.

Extrem - what did the dealership charge?

Rootski, did you use just regular screws?

I don't think it does. I mean, it was caused by road debris (a large piece of a truck tire) striking the undercover at highway speeds.

No problems with my 8 so far. Very positive ownership experience.

Yeah, that happened to me on the way home from the dealership the day I bought the car. Oil light came on and I freaked as you can imagine. Turned out to be the oil level sensor connector on the side of the oil pan had been knocked off by the road alligator. The front screws on the underbody panel also were missing, but I suspect they were never put on when the front spoiler was installed at the port of entry. Others have discovered the missing screws as well.
