Great thread man. It's fun to read positive threads now and again. I've only had mine for a month and a half and it's an awesome car. It's good to see others that have had it for years and still love it.

I test drove no less than 12 vehicles over the last year or so, thinking that I was going to replace the 8.

I can't do it.

Nothing else even came close in terms of handling, interior quality (which I think is remarkably good for this price point), buttery smooth motor and stick/clutch, steering feel, and both refinement and utility w/the usable back seat (especially for a true sports car that can actually be used as a daily driver).

I'm being totally honest.

The fact that this car handles Michigan snow with total ease when shod with Blizzaks or Hankook iPikes (W409s) on 17" wheels seals the deal for me.

I still get double takes from onlookers at red lights, on the highway and at gas stations, too (it really blows peoples' minds when I'm at the quarter car wash and open up the rear doors to vacuum out the back of the car ).

Thanks this is a really good thread.. I love mines too.. Struggled to pay for it all through my college years but graduated from college just this past semester and I am totally happy that I didn't have to sell it even though I had the for sale sign up a couple of times which was totally crazy what was I thinking? This car was meant for me and very special.. It is my baby! ..

That's how I feel, too. I've had mine for over 3 years, and it's one of only 2 cars I've owned that I never think about selling. (The other was my first Miata, which I owned for 9 years.)

With its deep, sparkling Black Cherry Mica paint – and its foreboding, mysterious Batmobile-ish shape, I love how complete strangers – many obviously not even "car people" – notice it big time, yet have no clue as to what it is they're looking at. You can just tell they're guessing it's some exotic supercar worth several times its cost.

And to think I feel all this before even turning the key.

This car is just amazingly awesome. I've never once even come CLOSE to regretting this purchase. It threw me into huge debt, but I don't mind at all.

My car's a total love-hate relationship. I was CONVINCED I was going to sell it. That's about the time my tranny busted (my own fault). My car's been sitting for the last four months while I rebuild the tranny and upgrade other parts. I can't even tell you how much I miss it. I dream about this car daily. I still shake my head in amazement at its beauty while it sits, collecting dust while it waits patiently for me to finish fixing her. There is no other car out there like it. I hear you, man.

haha good to hear im sure with a color like BB you can see anything that happens to be on it. i can see everything on mine.... people commenting on how clean it is while i shake my head seeing a small layer of dust and other things and commenting on how it needs to be washed and ive been itching to clay it but been holding off becuase of the weather:/

the bad thing is i even explained to him what the light meant, pulled out the manual and he insisted..... i said ok and thought when you mess something up your gonna be pissed haha. the bad thing is... it was on for about 5 weeks when he finally got his oil changed.....

I know exactly what you mean. And my car is blue. I think I'd go insane with a black car. I'd eat, sleep, and clean the car.

"AAhh, finally it's clean. Wait, I missed a spot. Ok, now it's- oh where did that dust come from? ...and that water spot wasn't there a minute ago... "

yeah but once its all waxed and clean it looks super sexy I love it but dont love the heat she produces in the sun i get my car and have to air it out for about 10-15 mins and 5 weeks isnt too bad you just dont want to add another 1 or 2k miles on it

it is his daily driver 5 weeks is a long time for low oil if its getting driven every day.

and mine is blue ut i feel a fraction of your pain with the all black interior i start it up and get out and leave the windows and sunroof open to let the heat out and lately with temperatures in the upper 90's my 8 has been nice to me and for some reaosn when i start her the air is almost immediately cold coming out of the vents!

exactly!!!

and the previous owner (yes i bought it used) had someone install tint on the rear window...... but they didnt wash it first! there are these eternal spots that never go away under the tint and it puts me over the top when i wash it!

.... or possibly they washed it and didnt dry it only to leave those spots.... whichever...no me gusta

still loving my 04 just about 2 yrs after picking her up used w 50k mi. I thought about trading the 8 for something fast with 4 doors like a used AMG if my commuter(Dodge Stratus RT) decides to die before I finish paying off the 8 but I think Ill just pick up a cheap 4 door like a 300M when the dodge dies and keep the 8. Or maybe a used Saab 9-3 and turn up the boost.

I've never enjoyed driving a car as much I enjoy driving this one. I love the way it looks and feels. I have never been so satisfied with a car before in my life and I've had 11 of them before I bought this one. I'm a car fan and I've always wanted a Porsche 911 Turbo and a BMW M3. Now I'm completely satisfied and I no longer desire owning those cars. I will keep this car until it dies; then I'll buy another one.
