If its AP or the suspension upgrade go ap. Learn how to drive the car first with stock suspension, when you upgrade later on you will appreciate it much more

I would say buy the accessport from MM. I've been doing tons and tons of research on it and studying the facts, and I'm thinking myself of buying it, i'm 90% of the way lol. The others are either tone/noise=borla exhaust, head unit... or for show=wheels..

yeah, if i had it all to do over again, i'd do AP first. and i know i'm in the minority but i have the AFE SS and it's nice and all but am always surprised when it's even mentioned in the same sentence as the AP or as the mod everyone must get.

Please elaborate.
Personally, I'm not a aftermarket parts kind of guy, but recently contemplated about the short shifter for engaging the reverse gear easier if nothing else.
The reviews for them on this board are nothing but positives.

ooooooooooh o.0 my bad dude. I thought the wink was an eyetwitch. The only problem with the forums is you can't hear peoples tone to know how they are saying something. We all good!

The short shifter really does make a big difference. It is like night and day from OEM shifter to short shifter

It seems to me that general consensus is leaning towards AP

^Cool. I'll go with "wink1" next time. That one does look kinda twitchy.

the throw is already short on the stock shifter and this reduces it by i believe 20% (but i'm sure someone will quickly correct me if i'm off). when you first get it, it will feel a bit too stiff but after a little bit, feels much better. yes, i can tell the difference between mine which has the SS and my sister's that is stock but i don't know if i'd say night and day. the stock really isn't that bad to start off with.

i'd suggest seeing if there is someone near you that has the SS and see if you can take it for a quick test drive. the community is open enough that i'm sure they wouldn't mind especially if you were at a small meet. you can then decide for yourself whether it's worth dropping the money. many on these boards have them so it shouldn't be too hard to find a local that has one and is willing to ride shotgun while you test it out.

^ My synchros were going bad in my OEM shifter, so I think that played a big part of why the SS felt so much better.

ive felt the way the SS feels, i havent driven it with the SS so i cant really put in a real decision. But from just feeling the way it shifts it feels good.

as i said, i'm in the minority here. when asked what would be the first mod for anyone to do AFE SS is always mentioned multiple times and probably the favorite mod by most. i really do like it or would have sold mine by now but i just don't see it as essential when the 8 already has a short throw. again, if i had to do it all over again i'd give up the AFE SS, clear corners, and AEM to get the AP first.
