First time I saw you post, I thought the same.

btw, I made my avatar back in 2003, as can be seen from my join date.

So, I contend that you are the avatar thief

Not easy to get to threshold velocity upside down. Furthermore, it'll still be going pretty darn fast when the downforce (upforce in this case) won't be adequate to offset gravity when the car slows down. It'll be like a light plane crash.

Or a track could be made that coils like one of those roller coasters. That would be a neat worthless stunt!

Its pretty simple buddy if you want a car that is quick fun to drive and looks good while you are doing it the 8 is the way to go. If you are looking for pure speed in a strait line this is not the car for you. I have a firebird that is fast as sin in a strait line but now I am looking for something that is more refined and comfortable to drive. If you are a decent driver with a manual from what i have seen you should be able to run around a 14.4-14.7 in the quarter which is good. I don't even have one of these cars but i have been doing a lot of research and if you love to drive this is the car for you.

how the hell did this get to 6 pages in one day?

i was learning so much about downforce till u all brought back the tib vs 8 debate.....

fyi there are currently three generations of tiburons, 97-99 was 1g, 2000-2001 was 2nd gen and 2003 and up is number three....there was no 2002 tib in america. i should kno, i owned a 98 and my bro owned a 2001, me and his were also "tricked out" he went a lil overboard and painted superman on the car......good god that was a lot of work....anyway!...........

i personally like the 3g tib so this bashing is not needed, its apples and oranges ppl. he wants to step up to another car and the mere fact that he considered an 8 is good enuff for me, however, since his first Q involved speed, i shy him away from the 8 community. there r fast rotaries in the world but the 8 is expensive to make fast.

since he is so concerned with speed he should get a 350z, evo, sti, etc etc etc

I hate it when people say the RX8 is not a fast car. Sure, there are plenty of sports cars that can beat it, but only 4 that I can think of in its price range (Mustang, S2000, 350Z, Eclipse GT), in which none of these has the handling ability of the RX8, save the S2K (which is a matter of preference which is better). 0 - 60 in mid 6 second range is not that far behind the S2000 and the 350Z. I know it's faster than a GTI, Civic SI, and RSX Type S (the third mentioned from personal experience).

Try this out: Go 80 MPH in 6th. Drop to 4th and floor it. I guarantee it will take your breath away (I tried it tonight. Hit 100 in like 4 seconds. It really was exhilarating)

(Oh yeah, forgot about the Neon SRT-4, although who the hell would buy a Neon?)

wah wah wah.

yes it is. It is faster than most cars on the road. And there are even fewer cars which will beat it around a circuit or on twisty roads.

you straight line people can crap on all you want about "not a fast car" until the cars come home. It's irrelevant anyway, since the average motorbike is still faster. There is always something faster.

Who are these straight line people you speak of?

Isn't that what this country called Japanese cars a few years ago? Only you can cure your tunnel vision.

Do you post just to add to your post number? How many of your 7,000 posts are stupid irrelevant comments that you didn't need to state in the first place?

Also, if you think so little of the RX-8 (which according to your posts and the fact that you sold the car you do), why do you continue to post on this site? Shouldn't you be over at a STI site (or do you have an EVO)?

um he has an evo.

ike really isnt that bad of a guy. he probably wanted just a different type of car. the evo is a more unforgiving (for a lack of a better word.) what it lacks in smoothness it makes up for in performance.

he normally just says things as they are, in his opinion. i agree the rx8 isnt that fast of a car in some respects. i usually see him seeing the rx-8 for what it is.
