4 months after the recall still no parts ? another 2 months came and go still no parts for *recall* ? (Nissan)

I dont think anybody here wait like 1/2 year for an engine buddy. The recall just came out like 2 months ago I know but. Most got their engine within a week.

Not to mention its a fuxking pain to try to find Nissan's TSB.Once you found it, u'd be surprise by how many problems they have (way more than Mazda can offer :P)

When did they ever recall to replace an entire engine? For as long as I've owned my car, which isn't very long, I've only needed a flash and plugs replaced...

Most 8 dont even need new engines. u know how people spread things around

A Talking to B : Hey, I heard that Mazda having a Emission recall and it might require some people to replace their engines, I might be one of them

B talking to C : A said most likely he is getting an engine, he already spoke to his dealership.

C talking to D : My friend's friend (A) got a new engine

D talking to E : I heard that some 8 needs new engine, my friend's friend's friend has one.

E talking to F : Alot of 8 needs new engine.

F talking to whoever : Dont get 8, because I heard some **** that the car sucks, their engine sucks, it dies in 2 days and u need to replace them even buying as new.

Cause I was gonna say...I want a new engine?! When'd Mazda recall our engines?! Shiet! My recall was spark plugs (45min) and an ECU Flash (4hrs) and the dealership gives me a free rental, even for the 45min plug replacement. I had a Chevy HHR (crap, but cute) and a Mazda 3 (not bad for a 4 banger, but the trunk opens weird) so far. Bwahahaha. Silly rabbits and their rumors!

Psst! Aye NYCPGS, I hear Mazda's recalling our rims...now they're giving out 20" chrome spinners...pass it on..

Can no one be happy with what they own or have the ability to understand why others own what they do? Want torque? Get a goddamn JD bulldozer. There; torque (and with the ride of a 350Z too). Which brings me to a point: I may not like the ride of the 350Z, but do I go haywire when someone buys one? No, I say, "Hey nice car. Well done." Because it is a nice car. It wasn't the car I wanted buy but why should a 350Z owner give a **** about what I want?

The RX-8 is a very good car. It has been decided. It is not up to us anymore. It has general properties that make it a favorite among car reviewers and specific properties that make it loved or disliked by individuals.

Edit: forgot S2000 in the list...

The RX-8, 350Z, Evo, S2000 or STi are all great cars. I'd be proud to own any of them and am proud to own one of them.

It is idiotic to display egregious disdain for any of these cars or spend copious amounts of time demonstrating that any one of them is manifestly inferior.

The word "unique" as applied to the rotary engine is not so unique anymore in this forum.

Bro,
I'm thinking that was some weird "inside" thing. My guess is, those who have been on this site for YEARS maybe a bit tired of hearing that kind of stuff. Then, again that is just my guess. I'm starting to read a lot of this "old-timer" humor and sarcasm around here. Kind of elitist and retarded if you ask me....after all, it's just an online forum not a Law Firm where seniority really means something. Not to mention that seniority, particularly in this context, does not equate to experience nor does it to knowledge. It just means you found this website first! Congrats...

Me, I'm new to this car and every aspect of it is still fresh & exciting. Probably will be for a long time to come. And not just our engines, but everything about the car is UNIQUE! Sorry, had to say it. So I got a bit hot & bothered when I kept reading about how much people wish our car was something it is not.

Shinka-Dono is right, the Z and S2K, etc. are all GREAT cars! As is ours! Its just the 8 was more my flavor and I assumed that it was the same for most in this forum as it is an "RX8 CLUB", no?

By gripe is that its so much better to read about the car than peoples complaints...then again, I'm complaining now aren't I?!

Bottom line:

The 350z is a little faster, and in some cases handle better.

...but it's not an RX-8. Driving an RX-8 isn't the same as driving a 350z. The experience is far different. The gas mileage isn't grand, it doesn't have a huge torque number...but it's an RX-8.

Bro,
I wasn't EVER comparing the Z with the 8. Its just that conversation seems to manifest all by itself whenever someone mentions torque or HP. Case-in-point, the way you contrasted the two automatically and then presumed to end my thread?! Did you even read my post? I just finished saying that they are both GREAT cars...I, personally, perferred the 8. The post is not 350 v. 8. It's to ask people to trade their cars in if they're just gonna bitch about it.

So next time you wanna chop a thread...make sure it's either
1) One that you started or
2) That you are contributing a final conclusion to the issue

In either case, No...you didn't so thanks. Dismissed.

Or maybe, they're tired of their over-rated econoboxes and want to see whats up when your car was intentionally designed as a sports car--not a factory after thought to "fast-and-furious" an otherwise commuter car...
Hmph.

After all, the website is called "RX8 Club.com" no? Not Overrated Econobox.com, or lets make our commuter/base model more appealing by adding Turbo and Brembos on an otherwise crappy design that didn't sell so well but maybe with turbos, brembos, and a highlight spot on Fast and Furious III.com. You know, its like if Toyota decided to Hop-Up the Yaris by giving it turbo and Brembo brakes, maybe a cheap looking vented hood, a carbon fiber wing, some rims and calling it...the Revolution or something, huh? Cheesy, no? Like a 32 year old in a factory hop-ed up Yaris?! For years, surfing a site that's named after a car he doesn't own! Now how "40 year old-virgin" is that, bro?

I just find it hard to wrap my head around the idea that people will either, purchase a car and stick with it if it's obviously plainful for their egos to own or talk negative about a car that they do not drive on a daily basis.

As I said, 350Z is brute force. RX-8 is fitness. I actually never felt "slow" driving the RX-8, it just doesn't accelerate like the 350Z

Its true that numbers can be deceiving.

I used to own a '99 Civic Si with a Jackson Racing SC. Its power band at the wheels was very similar to the 8 (135ft-lb from 4500-7500rpm, 192hp @ 8200.) That was what I owned and drove at the time that I test drove a 350Z Track. The torque advantage at low rpm's was obvious, but it was disappointing at high rpms. I came away feeling like the acceleration was perhaps a notch better overall for the Z. Then I test drove an STi and was sold.

What you're talking about is torque. You can't feel horse power.

Look guys, I don’t know what RX8s they sell you guys in the States, but the JDM that I own is friggin fast.

In the past 10 months of ownership not one car was able to outrun me at the lights! (including evos, hondas, wrxs). And I have not had a single problem since I bought it (apart from the rough idle which was due to a fowl sparkplug).

As far a consumption is concerned, the Z is rated at 15.5 litres/100km urban cycle, I get around 14.5 litres/100km urban thrashing cycle same as my 2.5 V6 Diamante auto.

So quit complaining (for the few who do ) and enjoy this very unique car!

It's all been said be fore so I'll just recap.

RX-8 = A really great car at many levels.

RX-8 handling/ride = Great!

RX-8 practicality = Excellent!

RX-8 Power = Good but competitors are better.

RX-8 MPG = Very poor even for a Sports car.

RX-8 Service (Mazda's Policies) = Very poor (Rated 3rd from the bottom of all Manufactures).

RX-8 Fanboys = Detached from reality.
