How will my rx fair

I will be driving to Atlantic City tomorrow but before that I have to stop at rutgers university to pick up a friend. All together it should be around a 3 hour drive. Mostly highway. How will it fair in your opinions? *Gas mileage I am talking*

I've only done one highway run (about 230 miles) and got 24. It was between 5000 and 7000 feet elevation which may improve my results.

how the heck are we supposed to know that?

bottom line: the car will get decent mileage in 6th gear on the highway but depending on total miles you might or might not need to refill.

For an 8 it is reputable to be sure. Even on the highway.

You do know that there are service areas on the Garden State Parkway these days and they even sell gasoline! If you bring some money or debit / credit card they will sell you some fuel and even pump it for you.

When one drives in New Jersey you should never assume that a trip of any distance will be free of traffic which will effect your MPG. They are in fact doing about 20 miles worth of construction on the Parkway after exit 80. By the way place $10 on 34 Red for me please

Don't pick up your friend. The saved weight will help your mileage a lil.

It's fare, not fair. Fair is what you might need if you run out of gas in the middle of nowhere.

Almost. Actually, he'll need fare in nowhere, too. Fair is where you ride the Ferris wheel and get six-dollar funnel cakes, which isn't fair, nor is my hair or my hare.

Depends on which year you have. In 2009, the rx8 was switched to a non-refillable design. Once you use up the gas tank, that's it. So if you have 2009 or newer, I would not waste it on this drive.

This forum is full of useful information.
There is just a lot of noise in the signal.
No worse than any other forum.

wow old thread. It "fared" well. I live in NJ but I had to go to NY to pick up the car. From NY to atlantic city I used 3/4 of the tank. Had to fill up for drive back...on the last of the money I had.
