How to pop wheel well fasteners back in ?

How to pop wheel well fasteners back in ?
Hey I just took them out to install something and I cannot for the love of God figure out how to put them back in. I searched but all the diy show how to take them out but not back in. Do I just push them in ? It doesn't seem to be "fastening" in. Any help please

pop the center "screw" pieces out then insert the ring part, then reinsert the center things and it should lock in place
