How much for a Renesis engine?

Any idea how much it costs for a new or rebuilt Renesis engine?

I know you can get a rebuilt 13B for about $2500-3000 (USD).

Will the Renesis eventually become that cheap?

Does Mazda sell any crate Renesis engines? Maybe for the Star Mazda series? They must make crate engines for the Formala Mazda and for the miatas.

At one time, I was thinking of selling my RX-8 in a few years and buying another car to use on the track but I like it so much and it is so relatively inexpensive to maintain that I might keep it forever.

your bet is to use MazMart. They might have a used engine off a wrecked 8 for a much better pricing than new or rebuilt.

Yeah, but dealer pricing costs an arm and a leg compared to third party vendors. :D It's probably going to cost about $5000 including labor if he buys from MazMart.com.

Yes, but I think their 2400 price is the basic enigine with no computer etc. They set their pricing so you don't need to pay for more parts than you need, assuming you're replacing one and can reuse some of your own stuff. Not sure what they charge for a full engine, ready to drop in and mount.

I also was thinking about this...shouldn't an engine that is much smaller and use much less moving parts than a piston engine cost less? Why would the Renesis cost more than a piston engine of similar performance?

Pricing all comes down to supply and demand. Also what they are paying for the wrecked cars. These are not 10 thousand dollar cars new, most people pay around 30K. I am sure Mazmart is paying a pretty penny for these cars even if they are wrecked.
