How many miles till I "recharge" my K&N high flow filter?

hi,

I installed the K&N drop in filter at 17K miles and im sitting at almost 27K miles right now. When do I need to take the filter out and wash/oil it?

Thanks!

Taken directly from K&N's website:

Every 50,000 miles, we recommend you clean and re-oil our filter, then put it back in your engine and it will perform virtually like new.

Toxin440, how do you like your drop in? I have mine in the garage, putting it in this weekend or maybe Tom night...any diffrence? mileage? anything? I heard it has a bit more noise but unsure about that.

I have one too, and there's pretty much no noticible difference.

Not really. If you want more noise take off your VFAD.

yeah no noticable difference really, I got a TINY bit more noise (good thing) and theoretically a sliver more power at the top end, but it was only 40 bucks and wether it actually did anything doenst matter, I'm glad I got one

I recently installed the drop in filter, changed the oil, used a K&N oil filter and gave thar car SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner from Redline. I'm getting 2-3 more mpg. Can't say which one did the trick, they were all done together.

it is a tube the suppose to bring in air to the airbox, and it has this flap inside that due to noise and such it will close the flap and reduce airflow, so take off the front end... and take that bad boy off!!
