How important is radio to you?
Hey guys,
I'm doing a little bit of research and I would really appreciate your input. How important is it to you to have a radio (I'm talking strictly AM/FM here, not music in general) in your car? Let's say you were buying an aftermarket deck, would the lack of radio be a no-go?
Thanks for your input
EDIT: If there are any other features that are "absolute deal-breakers" please post them below. Thanks

Radio is a need. How are you supposed to get pumped without some Rage Against The Machine or drive around town without music. As much as I love the sound of this engine, I have tons of music that I would prefer to listen to, music passes time.
Wait do I really have to explain why I like music? lol...

No radio = no deal. Other music sources require messing around and many driving or life situations preclude messing around. Satellite is fine, but local college/NPR stations are often better.

in my work truck I need the radio to listen to the Tigers when I'm on route/NPR/sports talk/Dave&Chuckthe freak/Mike in the Morning
in my 8 I have no need for it what so ever. I never listen to the radio only CD's.

I voted maybe.......Because it would depend on what type of car I would be getting into.
If it's a track 'only' car, then I would prefer to have radio-delete.
If it is my daily driven car, then I would prefer it, even though I don't listen to it much at all these days.
At the end, I'm really not a radio addict. I could do without it, and wouldn't complain either. I simply get so involved in driving, that I forget about all the other distractions.
You also asked of what other features would be absolute deal-breakers. I guess you could put me down for an auto tranny being a deal breaker for my own personal car. Who knows? Maybe I'll be persuaded over to an auto gearbox, such as what the GT-R has. As of now, I'd prefer a true manual, even if it is slower than some of the new DCT transmissions.

Almost never use the radio but would still like it. There are occasions where it's good to have though. If there was a set up that was REALLY awesome and that was the one downside, then I'd probably be fine without it.
With the wide range of music today, it's hard for radio to really keep up with everything and I wouldn't find a majority of my music on radio. Maybe satellite, but still not the best.
