I can only imagine the conversation...

"You don't have a front license plate, which is required in Missouri."
"Yes I do.."*flip switch*
*cop scratches head*

As for the TSB, THANK you so much. I had no idea, and feel like a fool for not being able to find it previously, but I DO enjoy to see how everybody else are going about mounting the plate in a different way.

I drove in MO for like 10 years with no front plate, and only got 1 no front plate ticket the whole time. The ticket was only $35.

Unless cops in your area are total a-holes, $35 every 10 years is worth it to not ruin the whole look of the front of your car by plastering a hideous license plate on it.

I drove or owned my 8 for 11months to get pulled over 4x by cops already(drove a van before the RX8 and got pulled over ...Never... My Z24 got pulled over 2x in like 13yrs!). now with my RX I got pulled over twice from the same cop who told me if I don't put my plate on the next time he will ticket me.

If you live in a large city then it's okay but in the country everyone knows everyone... & I'm the only RX8 out here. Btw our tickets are $110...

Time's have changed. Got smacked with one in my RX-7 last month for a whopping $95. Funnily enough, the ticket for "Improper Child Restraints" is only $60. Makes my license plate feel important, I guess....

i'll definitely be looking at it more closely this weekend to know what i'll do after i have my kit installed. right now my plate sits next to me in the car just in case i have to throw it on the dash when the parking ladies come around.

Here's your problem ............. Your to damn good looking ..

Anyways , you should be able to take it to the dealer and have them install the bracket and plate . Here , it's 20 buck for the ticket , got one so far and I will just pay for it . Don't like that damn front plate . Makes my car look buck tooth .

Fortunately, both states I lived in (Texas and Colorado) don't enforce it to harshly from what I experienced. Although years ago I did get a few warnings in Texas with my RX-7 by state troopers. My excuse was always "the front end was recently replaced and I've got a bracket on order" while pulling the plate out of the trunk so only warnings came of it. The few times I've been pulled over in CO it has never even been mentioned even after the cop looks at the front sometimes then walk to the back to look at plate.

I have a USA sized plate, but perheps its not the same.

I have Racing Beats cold air duct so placing it in the grill will be worse, its still plenty of air flow left for the cooler.

I had the same factory set up but from the factory/dealer the plate sit a little on the upper lip of the grill so I put it in a tinted plastic plate shield and lowered it in the grill more. Look much better sitting lower and deeper in. It is about an inch lower into the air flow but this should not be a big issue.

I use to run with out a plate but after 2 warnings and a ticket I placed it back on. The ticket was actually given to me by a meter maid. I thought the car was illegally parked at first then I read the ticket. I know other in Chicago who live in the farther suburbs and have no problems with out a front plate. It is all about location.

Damn if it was $20 I would keep it off. Thanks for the comps...But my windows are so dark that they can't see me till I open my window; which I do so that they don't ticket me for dark windows...

I don't like that big ugly plate bracket they put on which is sitting in my trunk so for now I will leave it like that till I come up with something.

Cool but if you have a grill then that idea wouldn't work, the retractable plate idea???

I've still yet had a chance to put the plate on, still no ticket....yet. It's only a matter of time, so I REALLY gotta get that plate on. I can't afford another $100 for something freaking retarded like that. I got that bracket sitting in my trunk, just chilling, thankfully.

Yeah, they can probably see I already have a ticket for the exact same thing on a previous car, and will not likely feel the need to warn me.

in cali, you are required to have a front plate, they wont pull you over or give you a ticket for it.

my friend took his off and kept it inside his car (not visible), he got pulled over and the cop noticed his plate wasn't there and asked about it, he showed the cop the plate and all the cop said was "well, make sure you put that on"

Haha, I did that exact same thing. I have a Bra on my RX7, so I'm like "Nowhere to really put it up there..."
"Well, why don't you take the Bra off?" *In a smartass tone*
*In a smarter assed tone, since I was getting the ticket anyway..."Because if I did, my front bumper would fall off, then I'd REALLY have nowhere to put the plate." *that is a lie, but hey, it sounded good at the time*
