How do you guys do it

Seriously I was laughing the other day with this car, because I've had it for a certain amount of time, and theres so much that I want to do with the car, I have like a list full of stuff i want to add to the car, but don't have that much money to do it all at once haha. I could probably create a song out of it all, but the thing is, even without a bunch of stuff added on, I really love this car, I don't think theres another car I would take under 50k over this one

I dont know thats my rant for the day, lol I don't know how you guys can keep up if you have gf's/wives. I mean just the other day I spent $250 on little stuff (Clear Corners, Custom LED footwells, and puddle lights), and you know i have my eyes set on new rims and tires, a new exhaust, a body kit, coilovers, sway bars, a nav system, and the final piece, The turbo ......................

I'm gonna need to start selling drugs or something to afford what i want =[

Just do it over time. I've had mine for 2 years, done TONS of things to it and there's still a bunch of items on my "to do" list.

Well, for me, you just have to pay attention to the tiny little spending that you usually never pay attention to

Like say, cut down your *eat/dine out* times. When you hang out, buy less junk like drinks, candies, snacks, etc.

a buck or 2 each time does not seem like a lot, but when you add it all up, you'll probably save over 1000s of dollars a year.

Plus of course find a more decent paying job, stop working at McDonaldos

It's a pretty common theme amongst "car" folks. In order, I've had an '86 Chevy IROC Z28 with 305 and auto. Next up, was a '94 Mustang Cobra that I I spent a TON of money on. Now, I have an RX 8 and this is by far the best of the three.

Get a part time job, working nights or weekends. Or, if possible put in as much OT as you can at your current job. DO NOT start using credit cards to fulfill your mod appetite, you will be deep in debt before you know it.
Do something lucrative in cash earnings such as waiting tables, bartending, night club work, even delivering pizzas! Laugh if u want but those fellas can bring home some good tip money on a Sat. and/or Sun. shift (considering ur not using ur 8 for the deliveries!) To me, NO 2nd job is too "low" or embarassing when it comes to extra cash for modding ur ride. Your buddies may laugh, but ur the one rollin around in a bitchin ride when all is said and done.

I hear ya. Between performance, appearance, and audio stuff I want to do to this car, I could easily sink 20-30k into it...

sometimes you have to make a decision between food and mods. seriously, you have to take it one thing at a time. oh and yeah, throw in another $900 for tires every so often.

lol

Well, MikeyDs aint a bad choice if you just want to get maybe 150 bux a week part time.

Its great for a lot of people, if I have nothing to do, I might think about it.

its not a bad choice for people who needs money fast you know.

i came up with a budget. i set myself 100 bucks a week for stuff like food, gas, and other stuff. i have my bills spread out over the course of the month, and then the rest of the money goes into "savings" which is another word for mods

^^^yeah ANYWHERE making extra money is worth it IMO. If you can get a job at Mcdonalds then you should be able to get a job as a waiter or bar back somewhere where you get some cash tips as well as the other "perks" of those job types.
I worked security for night clubs since college, cant tell you how many times i walked out with extra cash for providing "special treatment" among other things, LOL...

Use my motto: Better living through debt...

Just upgrade things as they wear out.

AND

Buy bits and pieces in advance for some major item such as suspension. That way you can spread things out a bit.

LOLL!!!

getting paid what?! a small-time commission that ends up getting pwned by Uncle Sam's taxes anyways?!?!

all jokes aside, if you really want good money for your rx-8 mods, then slangin some drugs on the side is the easiest/quickest way to raise some money.

and don't think im kidding or anything because all you know that i'm speaking the sad truth here

Your post reminds me of how I felt 20 months ago when I bought mine.

With some, um, less than stellar credit issues to clear up I've still managed to sink about [undisclosed_in_case_the_missus_sees] into the 8. All while doing a good job of getting the "important" stuff cleared up.

Budget your $$$ money well, cut out the stupid little stuff like NY said. It's amazing how much you save making your own damn ice coffee!! And just accept that maybe that turbo is farther down the road (if at all )

And all of it gets done over time. Like you, I spend a quick couple hundred w/tint, corners, strakes, and accents. The other stuff took more time. Enjoy!

hahaha i love you guys, luckily for me my mom has this guy who she's working for whos rich and gives her $11 an hour to do his work, and most of it is easy, so im doing it for 9 an hour under the table, I've already made $60 in a day!!! unfortunatly if i have money its normally gone quick, haha but if i really want something bad enough i'll save. When i was 16 I got a part time job for 8 weeks at $50 a day and saved up the money for an $800 big screen tv =[, i dont know how lol.

alright son, i think your missing the point that i'm trying to get across here...

imagine this:
you can KEEP ON shelling out cash to buy your favorite drink at your local Starbucks, you can KEEP ON buying needless stuff for your own pleasure, etc etc.

selling some light drugs is THE ONLY way that you can do all this while pursuing mods for the rx-8!!! unless your part of a high income family

BUSH'S taxes will thwart any whatsoever legal course of action (an honest job, the LOTTERY!) you may take to raise money for modding your car.

what options does a good, moral man have when there are no more good choices with benefits?

...

lol...my point exactly.

Listen kid, PM and we can talk about this with the alternative source of income i was just talking about.

or do you want to grow up to be making 11 dollars an hour (less after Uncle Sam pwns you...) until you die?!?!

if not just PM me and i'll see what i can do for you...
