ok, no one cares about you selling drugs or any of that ****.

for the OP, set a budget, stick to it, and slowly but surely the mods will come

LOL, yeah Mikey. Thats why your car is so modded, right? U dont have **** on ur ride and ur on here acting like Pablo Escobar? Is one thing to make jokes or imply things, but lets not get too caught up in your little fantasy world, ok big papi? I highly doubt a legit dealer would be here on this website trying to recruit some kid for "work". Now, a small timer who sells enough to support his own habit may do something like that, hmm.......

My 8 is stock and will likely stay that way apart from maybe a tint job come summer. I've had a JDM STi conversion 2.5rs. I want to keep the 8 in full stock trim as much as possible and enjoy what Mazda has done. Now modding goes to my wife's wagon.

^ +1

I spent a lot on my SPYN wheels when I first got the car because I wanted black rims and was pretty inexperienced about selecting rims. I don't *mind* the spyn's but now I realize they're not what I really wanted and are too heavy (25.5 lbs!). So, gotta be careful spending cash on this car and make better choices. I think axis reverbs would be a pretty decent choice. But I agree with OP, it's damn expensive to keep this up and I don't see it ending in the near future.

I hate it when people want something they can't afford they automatically think that they need to sell drugs or something. It's so stereotypical. You ever think about going to school, get a degree and work for some big coporate company that pays you over 60,000 or 70,000 per year, so that you can buy whatever you want without having to sell drugs? lol. Gosh man....you need to change the way you think and start thinking BIG!

Exactly. Why would you need to change anything?

Look at the list of "mods" in my sig. One of them isn't even a mod to Zoomy - it's a mod to my EZ-Pass so it won't distract.

I just ordered brakes (just stock for now), AFE SS, and clear corners... Still looking for an exhaust, and considering a nitrous kit. This should keep me occupied for a good couple of months cos I work pretty slow

if you want to do it right, you need to plan ahead.

Just make sure you underestimate your income to your wife. It's not missing if you never had it, right?

Well i'm sorry but if the lad i was referring to has a choice between making $11 an hour AS AN ADULT or selling drugs...it's pretty obvious which way you have to go in order to properly mod your car.

If slangin isn't your thing and your situation is similar to this fella's, i'll see you in the next couple YEARS when you've finally saved up enough for an exhaust

modding cars is like crack. you can get addicted.

been there done that. i keep telling myself that if i buy an RX8 I won't mod it. then i laugh b/c i know within 90 days i'll be ordering an exhaust or coilovers.

i spent about 10,000 in mods on my last car. parts/labor/bodywork/paint. damn it was fun.

Have your employer withhold extra money from your paycheck and deposit in a separate bank account

Before you do that you need to get a job to be able to afford that. so good luck! ha!

I know it's a joke...but it's not funny when you say it everytime you see someone driving something better or someone spending a lot cash and you can't.... it just makes you look like you're just being bitter.
I used to have this friend who said it everytime he saw someone driving an expensive car or something he couldn't afford. He's like " that guy's gotta be selling drugs...or a drug dealer.... I was like "dude, have you ever thought that they might be engineers or doctors ..or something?" After awhile it's not funny anymore.

DAMN IT!!! I have such a LOVE / HATE relationship with this forum.

I love all the info and people, but I HATE the fact that I just found another mod that I want to buy.
