That is a good question. I bought a 6 speed manual BASE model.

So I thought it was the BASE model. But when I went to buy new front rotors I got the wrong ones thinking it was BASE model.

I actually have the sport suspension (while still being BASE model) which I thought was the RX-8's with the fog lights and appearance package ~. I was wrong

I have a base model rx-8 with sport suspension. I have no appearance package or fog lights on it.

Appearance package isn't a determining factor. If you have a 6MT, you have the sport suspension. Not too sure about the AT models.

on AT model you need to get sport package, that is with xenon light, fog light, dsc, lsd, 18 wheel, bigger front brake, and sport suspension.
on MT model, sport package is, just xenon light, and dsc. and other things is already came with the car.

If you have a manual transmission, you have sport suspension... and also, by no coincidence, male genitalia.

There should be a kind of print out that lists your car's components - I have the Automatic/with wheel flippers but it has the heavy suspension which I needed because I have to run her 1 1/2 miles up a dirt road - there seems to be an interesting amount of variability from 8 to 8....

if you have the 18" rims, you have the sport suspension. I believe all of them have TPMS

Sorry for reviving an old thread (searched it ). But let me get this right. AN 04 AT with 18" wheels have larger front brakes and sport suspension even though the 04 AT might be a GT? I tried looking for the 04 specs on Mazda's site but i can only find new models.

If it were a GT, then it would have the larger front brakes, sport susp, and 18" wheels. On the 2004s, those three items were part of the Sport package (Base being the bottom) on the automatic so unless someone swapped individual parts it should have all three if it has one of them.

K, I'm still a bit lost. Same here, trying to buy rotors, bought my car used, so I dont have the benefit of a window sticker. I have a MT, but just halogen lights (it's a 2004 by the way). Didn't come with foglights, sunroof or airdam, but did have a spoiler. I'm reading up above that the MT should come with xenon lights but mine doesn't (at least they don't look like it - they have that Halogen yellow tint) nor does it have the sunroof. So is it a sport or what and does it still have the sport suspension ?
