It keeps going off, very annoying to me or anyone else near it. I don't have the remote and there is no sensitivity switch under the dash which some others have but all I want to do is disable the alarm.

Anyone ever done this?

Do you have the factory alarm system? What kind of sound are you hearing? Just the horn beeping?

If the factory alarm keeps going off for seemingly unknown reasons there is something wrong. Sounds like you may have an aftermarket system.

Mine has never gone off all these years, even when the window was busted out at a club. Pretty much the only thing that will set it off is opening the doors, trunk, or hood.

...minus the part about the window getting busted out. Only time i've actually heard mine is after accidentally pressing the panic button on the keyfob.

 

I was in the same boat as you. My 8 came with a "deactivated" aftermarket alarm system, in that there wasn't a remote programmatically bound to it at the time.

By locking the car with the switches on the door, or by using the key from the outside, I found that the stock alarm would arm and just go off endlessly, at seemingly random times. Like you, I had no sensitivity adjustment and just hanging wires under the passengers side dash

I started locking the car the archaic way; By manually pressing in the locks. The alarm hasn't gone off since.

 

Hey guys the key should work manually to turn off the alarm, that is how I do it everyday since I don't have a key FOB on my key ring. I hate having a key FOB on my keys, I like only having a couple of keys in my pocket.
