The Mazda sticker under my hood says "PCM Flash" and I assuming I'm done w/ flashes and up to date. Mazda USA confirmed this.

Search for "brake pedal test" and you'll uncover a way to distinguish L or later from all earlier flashes. I haven't heard of any way but hooking it up to a dealer's computer to distinguish between L and M.

Yeah, the test sweeps the oil pressure gage needle only if you have the L or the M flash. It won't do anything at all for any flash older than those two.
