A hole drilled in my passenger side suicide door . . .

Anyone have any idea why there would be a hole drilled in my passenger side rear door? See pictures to see what I am talking about. I have only owned the car for 2 1/2 months, rarely get in on that side so I never noticed it. There is also a little spot just to the side of the hole that looks like it has a plug or something covering another hole.

Mine was like that too, just go to lowes and by some plugs, can't remember what size, but they were only .25-.50 cents for I think 5-10 plugs.

I never looked at another to see if they had them too, but it's alot harder to see if they have the plugs in them, and there should be more then just one, at least on mine there was.

If they have cheapo plugs in 'em, I'd suggest it was drilled for rustproofing.

(I know that door is aluminum....)

Sad, but that's how it's done.

I have em on both back doors, and the front doors, and where the back doors connect to the body, and the same for the front. I know when I worked at honda (don't say anything lol) they had slim holes in the bottom of the doors for that, so if that's what they are for on the 8, that is one big hole for that type of job.

They only drill when they have to and usually it's a small hole; one that big could have been needed to use 2 tools.

I work in a pdr shop. It can be done without drilling holes. You just have to take the interior door panel apart. It saves time to drill holes. Not the best way however.

Should have been plugged though. That's just careless.

Like edz said, but if it's just a temp thing until you get another spoiler or fiberglass it it'll work, just buy some touch up and make them match so they don't stick out as much.

I watched pdr up here and never seen them drill, but that's here and they could do things a little different I guess.
