HKS oil filter

Rightio, here goes.

I have searched and am having real trouble finding any information. whenever I find a remotely linked thread its just full of abuse to the OP about searching..... just saying this is becoming a regular occurance.....

But onto my request for information, Im looking for a decent oil filter, and it does seem stock may be just about as good as any. But for obvious reasons when you see it, if you haven't already, has anybody used the HKS filter, or can confirm it is being correctly listed in this instance.

http://shop.ebay.co.uk/i.html?_nkw=h....c0.m270.l1313

It seems legit, and has been mentioned on the UK club before but nobody has actually bought one yet, and well it'll just add to the engine bay bling and jdm brand whoring :P

Any help or info greatly appreciated

Nick

Most of these products are just rebadged units... do you think that HKS, Knightsports, Rmagic could afford to produce such products?
I would save my money and get a normal filter and place an old magnet around it just to be sure

don't waste your money on such filter, there are only a couple of oil filter manufacture and they make all oil filters for the whole world.

I would assume all Oil filter in Japan, no matter what brand, are made by Nippon Denso. HKS just asked Denso to "print" HKS logo on it and sell it as 3-4 times the price.

I'd say just stick with oem. But, I'm not trying to win any awards for engine looks, either

Did anyone notice the price of that filter? For that kind of money you could hire someone to come in and hand wash your oil.

Fair doo's rather suprised its never been mentioned before, especially seeing as its bright pink :P

They claim to have some sort of special hybrid system, but like you say there all rebadged.....

I love there milage estimate for the £20 there asking..... 10k km so 6250 miles. and a third to half of that if you drive in a 'sporty' fashion lmao, so 2-3k miles......

That was the spiel on sumo powers website......

Try it. If it doesn't work out, then you could go back to oem.

$22 dollars for a pink oil filter from a company that recommends for sports driving it be replaced before 2000 mile mark. Its also rated at a high rating 20microns vs the Mobile 1s 19 microns vs the Wix 10microns. So its twice the price, and filters half as much as WIX. Even the mobile 1 is better. All you are really getting is a magnet. Waste of money.
