Hit the 500 mile break in period, oh gosh.

I've never seen this much material or metal shavings in oil, engine has great compression and runs like a champ. I just want to get started on the right foot and get everyones take on what oil I should replace this material filled oil with. Also, should I drain the oil coolers also? Or should I just drain out the crankcase oil? Last but not lest, what should I start premixing with?

Thanks,

- iSki123

You had Ryan do your engine didn't you? Inform him immediately. Save the oil. Don't worry about the premixing for the moment.

Have you changed your engine lately? Make sure you take care of it more this time, good luck!

Monchie, at 500 miles on the engine, yes, he probably changed his engine recently.

I have had 3 engines rebuilt in my Rotary life, I have never had a lot of material in my oil when changing out the initial oil. Some shiny flakes if you put the oil in a mason jar and held it up to the sun was the most you would see.

I would be in touch with the engine builder asap and as mentioned keep the oil for him to see and possibly send off for analysis.
