what kind of damage are we talking about here, structural or cosmetic? It only makes sense to avoid small claims unless absolutely necessary but to use it as a weapon in your arsenal if things get ugly. Find a shop, get a quote. Do as mentioned and talk to your insurance company, then continue your claims from there. At least you have something in writing by the cop.

Well had the insurance adjuster come out and take a look and give me an estimate on the damage done. The total cost for repairs would be $870, so the school district may just chop this one up and pay for it since it's a small figure, and I could prove that it hit me if it ever had to get ugly. I just more of less hate the fact the cop was a jerk the entire time, and didn't want to listen to anything I had to say at all. If he would had just taken what I said at looked at the evidence it wouldn't have even gotten this far and the bus driver would have been cited for the accident.

 

99.99999% of the cops are jerks. why ?

Anyway, the school district would most likely just suck it up and pay. 870 bux is not worth the trouble (thats if u have strong enough evidence)

Unfortunately right at this moment, without them really reading the police report they are leaning towards not paying. They won't like the alternative. The police report mainly is written up as a property damage report because he said "in my opinion i cannot determine that the bus hit you." Unfortunately he was not even at the scene of the crime, we were in a parking lot about 3 blocks away, so he didn't even see if it could have been possible where the incident took place. Also we were not parked next to each other in the parking lot, the bus was on a more high rise then my car sitting in a low rise area.
