Sup guys? my name is chris. i live in killeen(military). just got here in feb. bought an rx8 2005. its blue. love the car...bad thing is its automatic. i've been wanting an rx8 since i had my rx7 1st gen(ported running 100 shot of nos). i plan on making my car stick..i want to do the whole conversion. does anyone know around how much it'll cost? n if i could get a engine an tranny cheaper then 3000 please lemme kno. i really wanna make it turbo but i want manual first. i dnt have a way to upload pics. as i an reachin this website thru the internet on my phone. if u would like to see my car u can view it at www.myspace.com/lylblankito

This has been discussed before.

It is much cheaper to buy a MT.

Plus you don't have the extra oil cooler that is required.

 

maybe the part about switching it over is something they will enjoy doing, so the extra cost is okay then maybe. It's all about the modification process.

Still...seems very odd.

 

sell your car.....thats a little ridiculous and not worth it. then go buy a mt

There is a small group that gets together sometimes in Killeen, you would have better luck hooking up with the TX RX's out of Austin...bout a 45 min drive to their normal meet location. Turbo, look for a thread by rotaryresurrection on how he converted an AT to MT. He needed more than just the engine and transmission from the donor car. His experience might give you the info you need, or it might scare you off.
