having a strange issue with the car. When I hit 7K and rising through 8K, the engine hesitates and makes a strange throbbing noise, power is reduced and the CEL flashes until i dip below 7K.

Anyone experience this before? I found a few threads with similar symptoms, but not quite the same. The CEL does not stay lit after i drop revs below 7K.

Or detonation. Pull your plugs, look for signs of fouling or detonation.

 

should i be getting fouling and detonation with 1100 miles on the car? I'm not sure what flash the PCM is at either haven't even made the first payment yet.

 

If the dealer flooded or near flooded your car before you picked it up, your plugs could be partially fouled from that causing a mis.

 

Hmmm..interesting. I had the CEL come on solid 2 weeks ago, and when the wife took it in they said "you flooded it" but I think i would have known if I had flooded the car.

Guess I'll call them and demand new plugs then and see if they'll pony up. I'll also try to get the latest PCM flash put on there, what's current, R?

 

It should already be on R if the dealer did the recall work.
