Hey everyone.

Searched but could not find precise info.

I had to get a new plate (stupid new state law) recently, and both original screws holding old plate just snapped when removing the old plate (they have been on there for 12 1/2 years!).

Anyways, I was able to drill out broken screws successfully - BUT NOW am having trouble finding new screws that fit, MAINLY due to the thread pattern.

I've tried 6mmx1mm and 2 other sizes down to 5mmx.67mm with no luck - can't get screws to thread even though the existing screw holes are clean and debris free.

Any help?'

M6-1.0mm x12mm (or 10mm)

I bought 4 stainless steel Phillips type at Home Depot which look good and don't rust like OEM.

This has been such a pain in the a$$.

It's one of those things that seems trivial until the old parts are off and you can't determine the proper-size new parts.

 

I cut edges off stock front plate holder so plate is held 5mm away from paint. Short screw(10mm) fits better and I put permatex thread dope on for never rusting.
