Help with my color choice...

Alright guys so I'm finally going to be buying a 2004 8 soon and i still have no idea what color I want. At first i just wanted TiG or WB, but the BB keeps catching my eye. Also, after looking at the Calling all VR thread, I'm starting to like red as well. Aahhhh!! This decision is killing me! If you guys could give me your opinion on what you think the best color is and why i would really appreciate it!! Thanks...

Edit: I know there are multiple threads about this but i just want to hear your honest opinions such as what you like/dislike about your color.

Mine is Black and I like it, but I see the yellow now and then and I think it looks cool. But since BB is on your list go with black unless it is really sunny where you live.

There are many threads on this already. Everybody will tell you their opinion. But that's just it. It's Their opinion, not yours. Yes we may be able to sway your opinion, But i suggest you just look at the "Calling All Colors" and decide which one you like the best. Personally my favorite are. WWP, BB, WB, and VR. But with the right mods, every car can turn out to look amazing.

Titanium Grey - it doesn't show the dirt or carwash swirl marks in the paint as much and is easier to keep clean and nice looking. Plus it's elegant and doesn't scream "look at me" like the Velocity Red tends to do. (Not that I have anything against the red, it's gorgeous). I've owned black cars and they are always significantly more work to keep looking clean, but when they are clean, they are very definitely a stunning look.

The same thing happened to me, this is a car that looks good in any color... but you will see how easy it is when you start thinking about the things you want on the car vs. what's available out there... In other words... when I went searching for mine I knew this much..

I didn't want it Red (for personal "superstitious" reasons)
I wanted it MT
I wanted a Sunroof/Moonroof

So, as I looked online and started calling dealerships... The process of elimination began. One dealer had a WB, MT, but NO Sunroof. Another had BB, Sunroof, but AT..

The second to the last dealer I found, told me.. "Come out, I have a beautiful RX-8, MT, Sunroof, 6-CD Changer..." I asked what color...? He said Red..!! aaggH!

Finally, I was driving and low and behold there was a LY sitting there calling my name.. Without getting my hopes up... Drove up, walked up to it... Noticed it had a Sunroof, opened the door MANUAL TRANNY.. Woo hoo! Asked for the key... Fired it up! Strong.... Drove it... Took it!

I left with an '04 Lightning Yellow MT with only 33, 000 miles...! So, whichever one is meant... I guess you'll know..!!

I love my Bumble Bee... I don't regret the color in the slightest....

BUUUUUUUT...not to let this influence your choice in anyway... I will ALSO (NOT TRADE) be getting a BB... for some MOD ideas I have that I believe will look insanely sick with that color!!

Happy Hunting and Good Luck!

*Knocking on Wood* GOODNESS NOOOOO!!

However, (TRUE STORY!!) I did get pulled over... I wasn't speeding, nothing was wrong with my car. In fact, I was "STOPPED" at a RED LIGHT... The cop walked up..Just to compliment my car..LOL! He said he had seen it for days and was looking for an excuse to pull me over... Thank god I had been on my best behavior... So, he couldn't wait anymore and just finally turned on his lights and came up to talk to me! LOL!

My father fights speeding tickets for fun, he is a lawyer, and he was talking with the state radar technician the other day in court, and he said that our smaller sports cars are hard to get a signal locked on because they are 1. small and 2. all of the curves and stuff makes it difficult. So if there is a big boxy truck near you, the radar will want to lock on to the truck instead.

All that said, color does not really matter and if a cop pulled you over because your car was red and looked fast, that would not hold up in court.

I agree though, you should get what you like. Anyways you might find a great deal on one that isnt the color you set out to get.

Laser speed gun is very accurate. They point it to something metallic like your front license plate and voila instant speed readout. Radars are easy to fight. Laser not so.

That is true.

I don't know where you live, but around here it is fairly rural and they almost never use laser, so I don't worry about that.

Hate to get way off topic, but how many miles are on your Accord Ross Dawg, I just sold one with 240k for $30.

I second the nordic green, but I don't see it change to blue. Just looks green or black depending on the light. Cop wrote black on my speeding ticket...

I'm leaning more towards TiG. from what I've heard its the easiest to maintain... its not that I'm lazy its just I'm in college and I don't have the time to wash/wax every weekend. But i do like a clean car... choices choices

I personally have grown to love Velocity Red. My True Red Speed is pretty easy to make look clean, so I imagine Velocity is the same.

I've also liked all the blues. I can never remember their names, but the middle blue (not bright, not dark - stormy blue, maybe?) was my favorite.

I like white also, but I get picky about option packages then, because I think it only looks nice with the appearance package and spoiler.

Anyway, when I had my 8, I had a black (I was in college also) which wasn't a bad color. Problem was the thing got all sorts of chipped up from all the interstate driving I did, and the front never really looked perfectly clean after that - the black shows chips like crazy.

I'm not a big fan of TiGray, I just think it's too boring for a car like this. (sorry Ti guys) But in the end, it's your decision. Just buy what you like and don't worry about superstition or how easily it shows dirt. If college has taught me anything, it's that you can let a car go for 2-3 weeks without a wash being necessary.
