hello, I traded in my 06 lancer for a 04 auto rx-8, yes sucks that its an auto, but coming from a lancer and the deal my boys gave me at mazda, i could not pass up a car i really wanted, i got this black rx-8 with a brand new engine, because of flooding from the past owner and the car has 31,000 miles on it, it looks brand new and i got it for 16,999!!!! that was the best part and that is why i didnt care about it not being a manual and its what i could afford at the moment,

so anyways, coming from the evolutionm.net/ lancer community how are the people here? what are the do's and don'ts with this engine? i def want more take off power, but im afraid to mod this engine with all the bad stories ive already heard with recalls, flooding, etc

please help a new owner out, and thanks in advance

 

The people here are generally "better" than evom IMO. Do a search for your engine questions. Outside of adding FI your car isn't going to get much in the way of gains from mods.

Just search around the threads and you'll find all the information you'll need. As for my 2 cents, the RX-8 isnt a car you buy to mod for extra speed and to hang with the top dogs... you'll see that you fall in love with it for a completely other reason...
