Heads Up
I have an appointment next week to install a new AC Amp and replace the interior center console silver detail on both sides b/c they were scratched when I bought the car in mid-August. I had to wait b/c the amp and center console parts had to be ordered.
Is there anything I should be aware of as far as the dealer tech installing the amp or the interior center console parts for those of you that may have had either done? I guess I'm a little nervous of what they'll have to do to replace the parts, like taking things apart. Thanks for your feedback if there is anything worth saying.
Regards,
RKM

The AC amp is an easy swap, but it may not fix your problem. It did not fix it on my car, but it has not been hot enough this summer for me to worry about. I will wait till next summer when they have a fix that works. As far as the silver trim on both sides of the console I think that requires the console to be taken apart and then the trim is changed from the inside, should not be to big of a deal.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope the amp improves my AC even if it's a slight difference. The air temp seems to warm up while it's on, then sometimes, just for a few seconds, it gets cold like it should. But I have to keep the fan speed on medium to high just to get comfortable.

Ask them to check the Expansion Valve. It is a $5 part that can kill the peformance of the whole system.
Its job is to slowly allow the compressed (and hot) refrigerant to pass through into a larger pipe / chamber where it expands. As it expands, it cools very rapidly. (Ever let propane out of a tank and felt the tank?)
