There is only one explanation:

They have it in stock at a Canadian dealership.

Exchange rate:

54,040 in Canadian dollars equals:
42,787.02 US dollars

Not CAN, just a typo or maybe pesos...?

I actually like it, minus the wheels. However if they want 50K for it, I think they are smoking rocks. Custom colors don't add that much value (if any) and without knowing the internal mods, its tough to say. The only thing that I believe would add to value would be a 20B.

Regarding the price

That paint job is a color shifting paint (chromalusion) which Galpin charges $10,000 plus they drive up the prices on all the other accessories that car has. The photo doesn't do it justice, to see the full effect of the paint you have to see it in person. Still too high a price.

Certainly a trick paint job can add to the value, but never near what the original person paid. Especially with a color like what is on that car--love it or hate it. You have to find someone who is in the market with the same tastes as you (seller), which can be tough when you are asking 20K over the sticker of a new car.

those are the worse looking wheels I've ever seen on an RX-8. I can live with the rest though

that's an interesting idea for the rims... maybe instead of that weird color, black would look nice... anyone agree???

i was wanting to chrome my wheels but painting the insides might not be a bad idea...

Originally the Wildfire was black

When Galpin ordered the car it originally was black with a red interior. Then the Galpin Crew painted it and changed the red interior inserts to bronze to match the paint scheme, as well as adding the accessories such as the wheels, strakes, etc... If you take a close look at the "Wildfire" picture you'll see that the door wells are still the original black. (chromalusion paint works best on a black surface)

The chromalusion paint looked pretty incredible in person (I saw it at SevenStock, where I took that picture).

I really didn't like the rims at all, and the interior wasn't much better.

Overall not for me, but I could probably live with the paint job with different rims and interior.

I might pay that much if it were the actual car from the X-men movie. Otherwise.... I don't think so.

So if Grandma Packer hits the car, who is going to repaint this car? Not sure an insurance company will pay for the tricky paint. Let's go with Mazda red and pay a whole lot less. 2 for one would be a better deal. This car is only for show then. Its not a daily driver I bet.
