I've only seen one female rx8 driver at the meet..............and she was kinda insane........and drives a stick, and can't reverse park.............

 

Become? No more than it has ever been... I've always seen a pretty good percentage of RX-8s on the road driven by females. However, that doesn't make it a chick car in the same sense that the Jetta or Beetle is a chick car. However, the argument could be made that an AT RX-8 is a chick car in the same way an Eclipse GS might be a chick car but a GSX is not.

 

We havea few female RX8 drivers locally. Most of them do not even know what the car is, and they drive autos. The women who drive 6-speed RX's are a little more in to their cars, and will usually recognize other 8's on the road.

In my area I have seen about 15 other RX8's around, only 3 have had female drivers, and only 1 of those women was a car enthusiast.

 

False about the 6speed comment. I drive AT-6 and notice every other 8 out there...even say hi or thumbs up to all...

 

Oh...BTW...yeah the MazdaSpeed rims, spoiler and MSBumper is a chicks car...

 

Then please move out here. The only women I see driving 8's will never notice another 8 even when sitting next to eachother at a light. If you try to say HI they turn away as if you are a stalker. ( I am stalking the car, not the driver)

 

Today I went to the mall before work and there was another 8 parked with a parking spot right next to it. I parked right beside it and the store I had to go to was all the way at the other end of the mall...go figure...

 

Has the RX8 become a chix car?

I think its 50/50. Where I live, every day I see more and more Girls driving RX-8's

most of the rx8s i see on the road seem to be driven by females. But this is hardly a scientific way of calculating, so it means absolutely nothing.

 

That's due to the fact that all you do see is skirts and *****.

I didnt bother reading this whole thread but I will say I cant believe the mods let you get away with some of the STUPID crap on here. Just because we are female dosent mean we are ignorant rotary owners. I probably know more about my car than half the guys who own them.... And mines a manual, imagine that! Lil ole' me driving a car with one of those shifter thingies!

 

I am an 8 stalker to BTW, I always wave and get no response... Today a girl was right in front of me in a VR and acted like she didnt notice me... She was not feeling the zoom zoom... I have gone up to 3 guys in 8's and told them about the forums, they where all really nice.

Thats when you get beside them and drop it down a gear, jump up to 8k or so and leave em in the dust....bet they notice you now!.....dam prudes

I never understood why a Miata is considered a "chix" car, because so many are raced and autocrossed, and the reputation started when they were all manual ragtops. Still, I enjoyed a scene on a 1996 TV show where some guys were looking under the hood of a Porsche 944. A young kid said that Miatas were nice, too. The self-appointed expert said Miatas are chick cars, and the kid looked surprised. "Didn't you know? When you by one of those, the dealer gives you a gallon jug of perfume."

Well my gf can drive a stick and she occasionally drives my 8 when her civic si is low on gas. She gets really pissed when people assume she cant drive a stick.
The salesman that sold her her si made a comment about the si being a stick. I almost laughed out loud because i knew she was pissed.

 

I've been up n down with rotary a ton man so no need to assume anything here... heck it'd be like me assuming your some thumb sucking mama's boy that was given an RX8 cause you went a week without pissing your bed... so don't go assuming you know whom your talking about. I was merely starting a peaceful thread to bring peeps together from all over the world to state there input on how many guys vs girls they bump into driving an RX8... because I was impressed by what I noticed in my town.

 

Well I certainly didn't say all female RX8 owners were rotary ignorant, but I wouldn't doubt there's a lot of them that are... like the ones I've heard about not filling the oil and thus burning up the motor. And if they don't even recognize another RX8 when they see one, what makes you think they know the basics of rotary engines. Believe me there's plenty of guys that are rotary ingorant too, saw an RX8 with a toasted motor due to lack of oil come caused by a guy.

 

This thread is a complete waste of time.. I see *chix* driving Camaros all the time... Add that to the list.. Another thing is *chix* driving big ol' lifted trucks.. Damn, add trucks to the list..

Holy cow, there are ignorant people buying cars everywhere.. My girlfriend & I own our RX8 and pretty much everytime we are in the shop working on it, she tosses on her dirty jeans & gets right under the car..
