Has anyone hard-wired Escort Radar Detector?

If you have, where did you pick up the ground and the +12vDC?

Thanks. I have mine run along the windshield (detector mounted low on windsheild) with the wire hidden between the windshield and dash. I took power from the cigarette lighter fuse, and found a metallic grounding screw (after much frustration) under the steering wheel behind the dash.

I just wanted to be sure there was not a better place to pick up power under the dash.

Thanks again.

I tapped into an unused fuse location that had unswitched +12vdc in the fuse panel in the left drivers foot well. I ran the wire up the A pillar being careful of the airbag to a location just above the left side of the rear view mirror. I just attached the ground terminal to one of the screws securing the beam that runs below the steering column.
