Has anyone had the dealer mount a rear spoiler, is it going to come out straight ?
The dealer has offered to install the spoiler and they say it's no problem to do it though I am a perfectionist and am concerned they might not mount it 100% perfectly which is making me want to buy the spoiler seperatley and doing it myself.
Has anyone had the dealer install the spoiler and has it been perfect ?
Sometimes the installers do a quick job and who wants a crooked spoiler . . .
I know there is a template, does anyone have a picture of this and does this template leave room for error ?
thanks

Does it cover the whole back or does it have to be lined up ?
thanks

Dealers install things like spoilers all the time. It is probably the most popular dealer installed option. They should do it right, if not, they will redo it I'm sure.

The dealer installed an aftermarket spoiler on my car. Its mounted perfectly, but I dont think the paint is matched right. It always looks a little bit brighter in the sunlight. If you get a genuine mazda spoiler you will be ok. =)

Not only is the spoiler a dealer-installed option, many other items are, as well. My black RX was ordered by some kid who didn't check insurance rates first. When he discovered that he couldn't afford ins., he cancelled the order. About 6 weeks later I came along and told my salesman what I wanted. It happened to be the exact model that kid bailed on, with the addition of the spolier, window tinting, and apperance pack. All three were installed by a third party who came to the dealer to perform the intallation. All were also done masterfully.
Hope this assueges any apprehension(s) you might have.

Please forgive if I'm wrong on this (I don't have a spoiler & I'm at work & my 8 is not) but I think the bolt locations are stamped into the under-bracing of the trunk lid. (?) I'm going by memory here... Pop the trunk & see if you can locate on the underside where at least one of the mounting bolts per side would go thru the stiffener.

Dealer installed my spoiler and I have no complaints. They did a great job. Don't worry the dealer has to warranty anything they put on themselves even if they have to replace something like the deck lid.
