Question Hard acceleration, popping noise, power loss?

I have an 04 RX8, 56k miles, new plugs, and recently during hard acceleration I've noticed popping noises and it will miss and then back to normal, no CEL. Mostly happens when the A/C is on....

Any suggestions?

90% of the time it's coils and/or catalytic converter.

I think he may have fixed it within the last 6 years or so, but I'll bet it was probably the fuel pump.
