Angry Had my 8 back less than 24 hours and it happened again....

Hello to everyone. I've been lurking for a few months now and have had my 8 (2004 6spd w/ sport package, winning blue) for 2 months or so. 3 weeks ago a lady backed into my door, denting the **** out of it and requiring me to get the doorskin replaced, a repair of about $1100. I had the car back LESS THAN 24 HOURS and some ******* has done it again. While my car was parked in the covered parking at my office someone in a red/orange car decided to hit my and punch in BOTH drivers side doors, right where the suicide doors come together... I don't know what I'm going to do now. I don't want to claim it again (2 claims in a month) but it is going to be EXPENSIVE to fix both doors. If anyone has any advice, I'm all ears...

I feel like I'm going to throw up...

What a damn bummer. Maybe armed guards are necessary where you work. Another claim would definitely have an impact on your insurance rates. Any chance the culprit will return to the parking area? *

to me that sounds like a vindictive *******!!! or just no respect for other peoples property!!! See here in FL I would love to buy a old beat up POS truck and drive around and smash the peoples cars or doors in that ding other peoples doors, the other afternoon I was at Quiznos and this big heffer girl was in a POS KIA, she pulled and swung her door open and saw me starring at her from the window, so while she was out there I went out to look and see if she dinged it..

She started laughing at me.....my response was

" Just because this car costs as much as your house is not my fault, quit eating so much and you can have one too"

Yeah, no kidding. The thing about it is that the spot next to mine is unnocupied (all spots are assigned), but it would be very easy for some random person to park there... and if they don't work here there's no way I'll be able to track them down... Why does no one have any respect for other people's (especially nice) things?

you have to think that even if you fix it again, the same ******* could come back and do it a third time.

it would probably be cheaper for you to move.

Man that sucks. I dont think he meant it was the same person, just the same thing happened though. Well you know the color of the car, so if you see it in the parking garage again you can "confront" the person. It really sucks man but you probably are just going to have to bite the bullet and claim it again. Sucks the insurance will raise your rates for something some other a$$hole does, I firmly believe all insurance companies are here to rip us off really. It is a law that you have to have insurance, yet there are no laws telling insurance companies to not rip you off!

here is a little story to try to make you feel a little better.

My dad has an s2000 and someone backed into the door and dented it. He took it to the dealer to get it fixed. When it was done he picked up the car drove over to the gas station across the street to get gas. There was a pickup driver at the pump that was leaving and instead of pulling forward like most people, he backed up running over the hood of the s2000 and getting hung up on it. My dad freaked out cause the guy put it into drive and tried to take off but he was stuck.

Basically he had his car back for 10 minutes before someone hit it again.

Good luck if it were me I would just call the insurance agency and file a claim, also I would talk to someone at the building and see if there are cameras and see if they possibly have any footage.

find a red/orange car at your parking area, and wait for the guy with a baseball bat. People who do that to other peoples cars have a very special place reserved for them. that is enough damage, they felt it, and left. dirtbags.

Looks like they were backing out, cranked the wheel first, looked back and hit your car, saw the damage and just left without caring. I bought a 92 Maxima back in 95 (great car back then BTW) and that thing was just a target. In the 5 months I had it, it was hit 23 times! Backed into several times, something similar to what happened to your car, rearended a few times, sideswiped a couple times, door dings and finally someone decided to run a red and take off the front of it. Sometime people just have bad luck with cars!

or some cars are just cursed. I think that is the single most damaged car I have ever heard of.

Yeah... maybe I should take the day off and go hide in the parking lot until a red car comes back... if I see winning blue paint on ANY car in that parking lot, it's going to be hammer time...

Gosh, I'm so sorry...I won't write more because stories like this just make me fume!!!!!!

I put myself in your shoes and I would be...just...$&^#@()#$&@)#(&@#%)(#&*%)(&*!

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope the best, I'd check around and see if you can find the car. If you could match the paint then maybe you can file charges...hit and run or something???

I tried to involve the police on the last one, which I DID see happen and DID get a license plate. They told me too bad. Since it happened on "private property" they would not get involved. I was livid... Basically, you can TOTAL someone's car in a parking lot, flee the scene and get away scott free because it didn't happen on a public road... I think it IS time to move...

A coworker had this happen to his porsche, he tried to get video camera footage and they cameras were fake. He then found what caused the damage, it was a golf cart that the maintenance workers drive. It lined up perfect had the white paint from his car at the same height so on and so on. Long story short he called the cops and they said if there were no witness they can' t prove anything. Lets all be real the cops wont waste their time with investigating a minor accident. In a parking garage that most likely is privately owned.

Just call the insurance company, get it fixed and move on. Violence will do nothing but cause you to go to jail.

If the accident happens on private property you contact you ever is in charge of the property espically if they have on sight security. Have them file a report (they will have reports for accidents) and submit that to your insurance. It will work the same as a police report. The police will only respond to serious accidents on private property, or any violence. They dont file reports for minor accidents, in Florida the police have the option if it is a minor accident to have the people invloved fill out a form themselves.

GOD THAT SUCKS!!!!!!

I would set some money aside to buy a beater. I bought a 88 ranger a few months back and drive it about 70% of the time. It's pretty clean, if someone dents it i'd be upset, but it's not as clean or special as the rx which has become a garage queen.

I hope you find the guy, did you file a police report? Best bet would be to speak with your insurance agent. I would claim it and if they want to up your rates switch companies. That's what you pay them for.

NOTHING pisses me off worse than that... had that happen once with my Mustang, girl pulls up where I'm parked way out in the lot, she thru the door open while I was sitting in the car, nails my car, sees me, and started laughing. I got out, she started to walk away, so I shouted out to her, she turned, and I KICKED her door as hard as I could, putting a HUGE dent in it, and said "Whacha gonna do about that?" She stood there open mouthed..

In retrospect, it was the wrong thing to do but DAMN did it feel good at the time. And I never did get the ding out of my car...

Oh I forgot, IF you were able to be your own cop and gather some evidence (paint on your car and who you "think" caused it)...MAYBE, your insurance company could subrogate againt ther person.

Just an idea...
