ground clearance

I've seen the all the dimensions for the car other than ground clearance and was curious just how low this car is going to be. My concern is not so much for handling but for the fact that I live in West "by God" Virginia. If anyone has traveled on some of our state roads here, they probably know what I'm talking about. Some of our potholes have been mistaken for canyons and you can easily find plenty of places to bottom out a car on secondary roads. Most of the local tow trucks in the area also require a reasonable amount of ground clearance. Does anyone else live in areas that have bad roads or might run into situations were an extremely low car would be a burden? I currently drive an escort and it has an adequate amount of clearance for my everyday needs...just as a comparison.

I'd imagine around the height of my Millenia which is VERY low

By the way, if you think YOU have potholes.. Come to Jersey some time.

Come to Detroit; we'll show you what potholes and bad roads are all about! Our roads here are worse than those in some third world countries!

...but Philly is pretty bad, too (I used to live there, maybe 6 years ago).

I guess we here in Canada have it ok then.. The roads I drive on in Toronto for the most part are negotiable on my car. I'm lowered 2" on a coilover suspension and I'm using 45 series tires so my clearance is quite small.

Ground clearance should be at least 41/2" but possibly the usual 5".

P.S. try to avoid those potholes.

ground clearance is a must for me, because i live in kinda hilly areas and the roads are rough. My friends 93 rx-7 will not go up the driveway where I live or where my parents live. My protege drags if i have 4 people counting myself in the car, and these people are not that big.

later, james
