hey guys,
i own an 04 m/t with just about 35k miles. recently got it in april and have had no issues with it whatsoever until today. I started my car up fine, drove home, once i got into fourth gear i got this weird whinding noise at open throttle (only in fourth gear). earlier today i parked my car, ended up too far up from the spot so i attempt to put it in reverse and get this nasty grind. 5 attempts later im thinking wtf.... this isnt normal. finally i got it in gear. same issues happened at night it seems like it doesnt wanna grab the gear i just get a grinding noise. Sometimes it works better than others, when i got home i tried it again and got it 2/3 times. any ideas as to what this can be? also in third girl i gave took it to about 7000 rpm and noticed this rattling noise coming from the engine bay at WOT. sounds like it could be coming from my throttle body i have a KN intake, any ideas?
i think its just her getting mad at me because she knows shess going away in a couple of days. i really dont wanna park it having this burden on my back so any info helps.

Try shutting off the car, putting it into reverse, then starting the car back up.
Does it make the noises then, or is it noise free?

If making noise still, you probably have a big issue.
If no noise, probably just syncros that need to be replaced, and is still a big issue, just a bit lower on the scale of transmission issues.
