Grinding noise?!?!?!

Ok so I hear a metal grinding noise when I hit the brakes, is this a normal thing or is something messed up?!?! I asked the dealer I bought it from they said everything is fine but it was a BMW dealer, I may have it checked out with a MAZDA dealer.

Your brakes pads are most likely gone and now you will need rotors too.....

yeah I would also say it's your brake pads wearing. On the one pad there a "squeaker" that is made of metal and when the pads wear down to that pad it rubs on the rotor making a metal to metal "grinding" sound. I would say that would be it. If your know how take your pads our(which isn't hard) or take it to your local garage and get them to look at it/replace if needed. Hope thats your prob cause its an easy fix. good luck

Then it might be a rock in your brakes. Take the wheels off and have a look see if it does not go away..

Did the BMW dealer accually recheck the brakes or are they going by the original safety inspection?

They SAID they checked everything and it was all fine. I'm planning on getting it rechecked by MAZDA this weekend, the noise is really pissing me off, but the braking is excellent.
