Not long ago, my wife's '04 MT RX8 wouldn't start. My dealer towed it in and did the new battery, new plugs, and I think new starter, etc and we were very pleased when we got it back. The thing has a new lease on life and feels like it gained 20+ HP. The traction control will kick in when taking off and come on again when banging second. It pulls much harder down low and has better roll on in higher gears. Anybody else have this when TSB was done? We feel it's like having a new car!

 

Never needed it. I did replace my plugs when I picked up my nitrous kit, but in my case, I don't think the extra hp was due to the plugs.

 

yep, the new starter, battery and plugs gave you an extra 20HP. enjoy - now go get those Z's

the only thing i gained from that TSB was hearing the engine turn over faster when i cranked it.

 

mu ha ha ha ha..... nice to get thecorrective work done as required.

 

I'm just happy that your pleased with the improvement in your RX-8.

 

I suspected it was the starter all along.
